Review: Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza from Pizza Hut
By now you should know that calling the new Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza from Pizza Hut a “pizza” is misleading. Let’s not get into what makes a pizza and what doesn’t. Let’s just be clear that the Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza from Pizza Hut is a pretty mediocre Hot Pocket.Pizza Hut describes their new Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza like this:
Four baked jumbo squares of toasty sharp-cheddar Cheez-It crust stuffed with cheese and served with marinara dipping sauce.
These sucked. Let’s review:I was extremely late with my acceptance of Cheez-It crackers. I used to consider them overrated and boring and now I can’t leave a grocery store without them. When I heard Pizza Hut was doing a Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza, I thought the idea (on paper) was great. Visually, Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza is awesome. I loved the familiar red box and the four “pizza” squares looked like giant stuffed Cheez-It crackers. Unfortunately that’s about where my praise ends and the letdown begins. The Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza was extremely dry (thank goodness for the marinara). It didn’t have enough of that sharp cheesy flavor found in Cheez-It crackers. The cheese center had an unimpressive melt… barely any melt to be more accurate. An order of Pizza Hut’s Cheese Sticks is above and beyond Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza and that’s a shame. At a price of $6.99, it’s about what’s to be expected from a side item value perspective. To be fair, it’s a decent amount of food for the price, but that doesn’t really mean much when you struggle to finish it all.I loved the presentation of Stuffed Cheez-It Pizza. Everything was good to go until my first bite. It’s a lackluster side item that I can’t see myself buying again. If there was a Cheez-It tie-in with Pizza Hut’s P’Zone, we might have some promise.
Pros: Packaging. Looks like giant Cheez-It crackers.
Cons: Super dry and not cheesy enough. Weak cheese melt.
