Fast Food Review: Roast Turkey Ranch & Bacon Market Fresh Sandwich from Arby’s

Arby’s is known more so for their roast beef, however, the are constantly expanding their menu options to keep up with todays other fast food chains.  We have reviewed their new RoastburgersFish Sandwich, and their Roast Chicken Club Sandwich.  Included in the menu line are the Market Fresh Sandwiches.  This line of sandwiches  is not one to be ignored.  One that I have had a few times is the Roast Turkey Ranch & Bacon Market Fresh Sandwich.

The Roast Turkey Ranch & Bacon sandwich starts with 2 thick slices of Arby’s honey wheat bread.  This is the standard bread used on their Market Fresh Sandwiches.

You then have a generous portion of  delicious roast turkey, topped with just the right amount of your basic ranch dressing.  The cheese on this sandwich is cheddar, of which I was leary at first.  I would think that swiss or provolone might be a better choice with turkey, but I was pleasantly surprised.  The cheddar was actually a nice addition to the sandwich.  The pepper bacon was thick sliced and was perfectly cooked, not too crispy but just right, however, the pepper was unevenly distributed.  Some bites of the sandwich had more pepper flavor than others.   The lettuce, tomato and onion were all fresh and crisp.

All of the Market Fresh Sandwiches are a meal in themselves and will satisfy a hearty appetite.  The Roast Turkey Ranch & Bacon is no exception.  Of course if you are looking for a healthier option, this would not be the sandwich to choose.  It clocks in at a whopping 817 calories, 37 grams of fat and 2146 milligrams of sodium.  Arby’s definitely has healthier options to choose from.  If you aren’t watching your weight or sodium intake, go ahead and give this sandwich a try.

Pros: Big hearty sandwich that is filling. Fresh ingredients, tasty.

Cons: A little pricey. Pepper not evenly distributed on bacon. Not the best option for grubbing on the go. Not the healthiest option.

  1. Damn! That’s a real ass sandwich. Sometimes fast food joints will give you this smashed down mess of a sloopwich but that thing looks legit. That bread looks great too! You didn’t go into much detail on the bread…was it as soft as it looks? ….and thick too!

I’m surprised and how good this looks and the bread too, looks really fresh.

@ Bear … I’ll chime in on this too…sometimes the crust of the bread is extra crusty dry and I end up not eating it…not stale, just extra “crust”y.

I was wary of the ranch dressing the first time I got this sandwich, but I have to agree–they make it work with just the right amount! If you’re looking to drop a Lincoln on a fast food sandwich, this’un is one of my top picks.

But good Lord! I had no idea the thing was packing so much sodium!

Yes, the bread really is as soft as it looks. I’ve had just about all of the Market Fresh Sandwiches at least once and the bread is always soft and fresh with great flavor.
