Fast Food Review: Chick-n-Minis from Chick-fil-A

Bite-sized portions seem to be the new thing in the fast food industry.  Chick-fil-A has taken this idea into mind with their delicious breakfast item, the Chick-n-Minis.

Is America confused?  Is bigger really better?  That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.  I mean, just look at the burger industry.  Sliders (mini burgers) have become the hot new item.  It’s not like there is less food…just smaller sizes and bigger portions.  I’m not complaining, bring on the mini sizes but the mini sizes must bring friends.  The Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Mini is pretty simple.  They take their bite-sized Chick-fil-A chicken nugget and make it into a tiny chicken sandwich.  These little treasures come in 3 count or 4 count and can also be ordered in 20 or 40 count platter sized portions.  I bought a 40 count platter (see bottom pic) of these Mini’s for some co-workers and they were gone in a flash.

If you think chicken for breakfast is strange, try these out before you dismiss them.  Although I do prefer these Mini’s were available all day, I’ll still make the effort to pick them up at breakfast time.  They are simple, like a lot of Chick-fil-A menu items are, but they are quality breakfast fast food.  These bite-sized beauties are worth getting up early for.

40 Count Chick-n-Mini Platter

Pros: Very tasty, quality all-breast chicken. The tiny rolls used to sandwich each Mini is warm, soft and coated with sweet honey butter. Good value.

Cons: Why only a 3 and 4 count? A 4-count isn't enough to satisfy a strong hunger. The sweetness of the rolls can be inconsistent at times and that's a shame. Since the rolls of the Chick-n-Minis are lightly coated with honey butter spread, expect to get sticky. Chicken can be a little on the greasy side.

I agree that the “Chicken-n-Mini’s” are so good that they should be offered all day. They are more than a breakfast item, and a larger count would be ideal.

I’m confused by your Twitter msg: how do you order fast food the night before, much less for breakfast!?

  6. Ryan says:

@ orb205 … Easy… 🙂 … Chick-fil-A’s website …there’s an option to order food and pick it up at a scheduled time or have it delivered, and since CFA has party platters it’s important to order ahead. You can order individual items as well…even a single chicken nugget for 34cents….a single chicken strip for $1.09…and even a 5 pound bag of ice for $1.29.

I LOVE me some chicken minis. I only wish they sold these things all day. But you can’t eat these things too often, as shown in the sodium, calories and fat you posted.
