Burger King Adds Mozzarella Sticks and New TWIX Shake

In addition to Chicken Parmesan Sandwiches on the Burger King menu and still available, BK has brought back Mozzarella Sticks for a limited time only.  BK’s Mozzarella Sticks are described as “mozzarella cheese coated in an Italian-style seasoned breading, fried crispy until golden brown and served hot and melty with a marinara dipping sauce.”  My local BK has a 4-piece Mozzarella Sticks priced at $1.99… and the 10-piece nuggets for 50-cents less… go figure.  Nutrition-wise, the four mozz sticks will set you back 290 calories, 15 grams of fat, 5 grams of saturated fat, 650 milligrams of sodium, 24 grams of carbs, 2 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugar, and 11 grams of protein. As far as new things go, there’s the new TWIX Shake now available for a limited time.  The official name is actually the “Vanilla Shake Made With TWIX® Pieces”, but no one will be saying that at the drive-thru speaker box. This new shake is hand spun vanilla soft serve blended with TWIX pieces and vanilla syrup and crowned with a whipped topping.  Priced at $3.69 at my local BK, but prices may vary by location.  Indulge in 780 calories, 23 grams of fat, 107 grams of sugar, and 16 grams of protein.

Well, the cheese sticks are more expensive than their nuggets because mozzarella cheese is pretty pricey, especially compared to whatever it is BK chops and forms into those scary-lookin’ nuggets.
