The Chicago Italian Beef finally returns! I used to love these 15 years ago! Yay!!

Not to sound like one of those Philadelphia residents who complain every time someone comes out with a Philly, but what the crap is “Chicago-style” about those toppings? Italian beefs in Chicago are plain, only the peppers differ. Sweet, mild/hot giardiniera. That’s what makes a beef.

Chicago French dip needs hot giardinaira…

They probably call it “Chicago-style” because they don’t care about authenticity. If it’s as good as the old ones I won’t care.

I agree with the comments about the Chicago Dip, but I would point out that the item most have in mind is called an “Italian Beef” in Chicago, so technically they can put whatever the want on a Chicago-style dip (within reason of course, no ketchup, ever!)
