Chipotle Adding Queso to the Menu Nationwide on September 12th

After successful test runs in select markets, Chipotle will now be releasing their all-natural queso nationally on Tuesday, September 12th.  Chipotle’s queso is made with aged cheddar cheese, tomatoes, tomatillos, jalapeños and a variety of other simple ingredients. It’s also gluten free, preservative free, without added colors or flavors.  The suggested price will start at $1.25 to add to an entree up to $5.25 for a large side order.

Oh good it’s gluten free. I was really worried about the less than 1% of people who are actually gluten intolerant.

People are definitely going to be polarized by this. It’s not the same texture that people are going to expect, like the Queso from Qdoba or similar places. It’s more like a thick cheese sauce. When I tried it, it was towards the end of the pan but it was definitely a little gritty. I liked the flavor. Definitely something different with the cheddar vs. the typical American cheese.

Now you can get botulism instead of e-coli! good to have choices

Now they just need some chips that have some flavor.
