Chick-fil-A is Bringing Back Their Original Barbeque Sauce

Back in July, Chick-fil-A introduced some new sauces and tweaked some of the originals.  The Smokehouse Barbeque sauce wasn’t accepted well and enough social media uproar has lead to a change back to the original.  Beginning mid-November, the original Barbeque Sauce will return to the Chick-fil-A menu at restaurants nationwide to replace Smokehouse Barbeque Sauce. Chickfila Barbeque Sauce

Won’t be long before the coleslaw comes back too.

    What were they thinking?

    • Cs says:

It is the best coleslaw I’ve ever had. I was so disappointed when they traded it for kale. I literally stopped going because I couldn’t get coleslaw with my chicken sandwich. I don’t care for their fries.

The three people in the country got their wudh

Hwy…how about bringing the Spicy Chicken Biscuit back!

You can’t mess with dipping sauces. I’m still livid I can’t find McDonald’s hot mustard anywhere. But McD in particular, didn’t they launch in the 80s right away with BBQ, Sweet n Sour, and the Hot Mustard? Whoever was behind those recipes absolutely nailed it. Look how big of an industry nuggets have become, and they’ve never introduced any better sauces, ever. The BBQ isn’t actually good at all as a standalone barbecue sauce, but it is absolutely perfect with a McNugget.

      Honey Mustard is great though.

They need to bring back the Mulan sauce and have a Thai Peanut sauce. That would be awesome. Just start copying Buffalo Wild Wings, their Bourbon Honey Mustard and Music City Fire sauces are amazing.

They also changed the recipe for the Hot Mustard years ago. They still sell at the McDonalds locations here, but meh. Not like the old stuff.

I miss the Hot Mustard sauce also which was by far my favorite of the sauce choices. I order McNuggets less often than I otherwise would because I can no longer have it. Was it REALLY so unpopular in these days of HOT THIS and SPICY THAT that thousands of tons of Hot Mustard sauce was rotting on the shelves causing McDonald’s to hemorrhage millions of dollars in profits? 😛

I was also disappointed when Taco Bell quit offering the Verde green tomatillo sauce packets. I like Taco Bell, but their food greatly benefits from the sweetness of ‘real’ salsa and picante sauce instead of the Mild and Hot taco sauce packets which are pretty much chili powder water. So now I always keep a jar of Pace picante sauce at home to enhance my Taco Bell food.

I’m still upset that McDonald’s no longer offers honey as a McNugget dipping sauce.

Where do you live? Hot mustard came back last year.

    • Starkzilla says:

That’s weird, they still have the hot mustard in my area! I wonder if it was a regional choice and not company-wide?

    • Alex says:

A lot of my friends and I think they hit a homerun with the habanero sauces. They seem to get old these days so they might not be as popular, but they are the only sauce I get these days. I know BBQ + SnS are huge though.

Hot mustard still available in VA.

The new Buffalo is weird, too…

I can get Hot Mustard in Kansas

I came here to read about ChickFilA (because here in Kalamazoo one is coming soon), but now reading these comments I’m finding myself just hungry for McDonalds chicken nuggets with hot mustard.

Am I the only person who misses McD’s Sweet Chili sauce?

    • BBB says:

Nope. I miss that stuff a lot. It was soooooo good. Thought they might bring it back this year with the olympics since that is when they released it last time.

  9. Jonathan Wayne says:

Hmm, now I have to go see if my McDonald’s has hot mustard sauce. The Mulan was the bomb too and the Sweet Chili. They need to bring back the snack wraps, those were their best products ever.
