How can they sell these so cheap when a 1/4 pounder costs $5?

    • Sascha says:

First off, the Quarter Pounder is currently part of the 2 for $5 deal and usually costs around $3.89 or so around here.

The meat on the Buttery Burger is not 1/4 lb size.

And the Steakzilla, which is a half pounder, is a $5 sandwich.

      • Bubbsy says:

The patty may not be 4 oz, but it’s also topped with a little tray of Philly Steak. So in actuality it probably is pretty close to a quarter pounder in terms of beef. Plus swiss cheese, crispy fried onions and a premium bun do make it quite a ridiculous value at $1.99…. I’m happy to drive the extra block past McDos for this!

Quarter pounder is like 3 and a half bucks. And it has twice the meat. And this is a special price LTO. That should about cover it.

The ol’ crispy onion anglers. Where do they fish for these crispy onions?

  4. Andre says:

Smoothies may be the first healthy items offered in the history of the chain.

I want to try everything on this lto btw.

I’m always so jealous when I see Checkers and Rally’s stuff. We don’t have those here and it sucks. Got to try them once on a trip.

Had the Buttery Steak burger. Actually, I had the “Steak ‘n Bacon”, the 2 for $5 version that adds bacon to the sandwich. Overall, quite good. The butter sauce is not more savory, not garlicky like BK’s for example, and I would have enjoyed more of it, though it was a generous amount. The steak was there, but it was probably the least noticeable item on the sandwich. The only true let-down was the brioche bun, it felt a bit dry and flavorless. Nothing beats a standard sesame seed bun to me.

    I’d give it a 6.75

there’s a version of the buttery steak burger with bacon (crumbles) available as a 2/$5 special at my local Checker’s. This thing tasted pretty good but the bacon didn’t add much to the taste for the extra 50 cents, and my stomach didn’t feel so hot afterwards.

There’s also a Premium Chicken sandwich available 2/$5, and that one has actual bacon strips that look alot like canadian bacon in cross section (that is to say, hammy).

    • Sascha says:

Obviously, Checkers could be doing things differently from Rally’s, but the Steak ‘n Bacon Buttery should definitely be coming with the strips of bacon, not the crumbles. And the bacon is 100% American.

Apparently had the bacon version buttery steak burger. Wish I said no to that cuz the bacon was way too greasy and drowned the flavor of the meat. Also tried the new milkshake. Not sure if they had 1 size cuz they didn’t ask but the cup was huge and bit of an overkill for me. total cost was $6+. Pretty bad experience for me.

Just had the buttery steak burger and it was amazing! Had it without the bacon and it was just as good as my co worker described his that had the bacon. Def will be buying this again!

Never expected they would put mayo on this sandwich YUCK but after I wiped of the mayo the sandwich was quite good. I will try steakzilla but will be sure to tell them hold the mayo.
