I have to say, that looks and sounds good.

  2. JJ says:

No, BK. Just… no. If I see another “new” sandwich come out on those stale, tired long buns…

BK hate is so adorable and quite trendy. If Wendy’s does something new it is amazing and always worth every penny.

      • MP says:

I thought the pretzel buns were terrible. Stiff, very dry, left an unpleasant off-taste on my tongue before every bite. There’s Wendy’s criticism around.
That said, Wendy’s quality (especially the burger patties) is head and shoulders better than Burger King. Plus BK uses horrible white lettuce & in general is a terrible value given the high prices. BK tries to be sneaky & do things like an extra long BBQ cheeseburger & charge $3.49, while getting two rodeo cheeseburgers is actually .50 cents to $1+ cheaper. BK deserves every bit of criticism they get. Their quality has dropped dramatically since the late 1990s.

BK is what it is, a fast food joint with average prices and an assortment of products, some terrible and some decent. Wendy’s on the other hand is a fast food joint with a marginally higher quality than it’s competitors and is charging for fast food the price that Chilis, Appplebees and Red Robin is these days.

That’s because monkeys design their menu. No other way to explain how teriyaki sauce and mayo would end up on the same sandwich

      • steve says:

BK troll? New mascot huh? Nice 😉

      • rodney says:

Well, BK does suck. They do have a veggie burger, and my best friend is vegan, so I end up with her there a lot. But fine, I will give them one compliment, a few years ago when they had those lava fudge bites, those were delicious. For fast food, Wendy’s is great.

“BK hate” is hardly “Trendy”, it’s completely justifiable. They have been on a steady decline for well over a decade and a half. They used to be one of my favorite fast food places back in the 80s and are now a shell of their former self. The Whopper is an embarrassment anymore. there’s no defending them.

I have to agree with Tony. Teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise? I might be biased as I hate mayo, but really?! Seriously, why?

  3. Patti says:

I’m intrigued enough to give this one a try which is not usually the case with BK.

  4. ahecht says:

“ripe tomatoes”? I don’t think Burger King would recognize a ripe tomato if it hit them in the face.

  5. TehBuLL says:

Has Burger King given up? *walk to store…look at sauce aisle…add to chicken sandwich!*

  6. Andre says:

Mayo + teriyaki? Not so sure about that.

  7. Clay says:

No thanks. I used to really enjoy BK Chicken Sandwiches, but about 20 years ago I hit my limit on biting into chunks of gristle or cartilage or (shudder) worse in those things.

  8. JJ says:

They should have offered this as a Tendergrill, and thrown a pineapple slice on there. I’m not sure what the point of continuing to offer the original chicken sandwich is. They have 4 different kinds of chicken sandwich?

  9. Sandy says:

Instead of tomato, it should have two slices of pineapple.

  10. EKP says:

So… a regular chicken sandwich but with teriyaki sauce?

  11. Dan says:

Just had one and I was actually surprised with how good it was. I’m watching my caloric intake so I didn’t go for the 2 for $5 deal; interestingly enough the sandwich by itself still ended up costing me $5.04.

  12. steve says:

WTF Burger King mayo on a teriyaki sandwic? and your bottom of the barrel chicken? No thanks. The bacon cheddar tnesercrisp is the only thing im willing to get there and even thats kinda a last resort

  13. Yeats says:

I love BK but this was messy and gross. The teriyaki was waaaaaay overpowering. BTW, BK’s batting average is much better with new sandwich quality than Wendy’s.

  14. Jonathan Wayne says:

This just looks nasty. This might work on a real sandwich that they put some effort into not that nasty piece of “chicken” they have been slinging for years on that equally nasty bun.

  15. Booze says:

    Asians have long awaited this….

  16. Snackeroo says:

BK never fails to unimpress with their new menu items.

  17. Sascha says:

I’ll probably try this once. My BK tends to have pretty fresh chicken, plus I like the combo of Mayo and teriyaki. Had the XL burger last month and liked it, too, especially the bun.

  18. Jeff in Middletucky says:

For its next LTO, BK should just go ahead and release the Silk Hat on a Pig sandwich (available in both beef and chicken!).

  19. Mattyboy says:

Lol @ the bk hate… “Mayo and teriyaki? Ew!” You mean the same sauce combo Carl’s Jr has been using for years? Stop the presses. Of course adding a sauce to an existing sandwich isn’t the most inspired move…

    • Raiders757 says:

Laugh all you want, but there’s a reason the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise mocks Burger King with the Burger Shot franchises in their open world games. It’s a direct shot across the bow of Burger King and justifiable so.

      • Bubbsy says:

        “There’s a reason GTA mocks Burger King…. It’s a direct shot across the bow…. etc….”
        ———————————

With great attention to corporate current events you’ve uncovered the great conspiratory corporate cross-industry cold war! What is this reason that you speak of explaining why the video game company created a video game prop with similarities to a real fast food joint??!!

        You sound really interesting.

      • SPM79 says:

Yes because a video game mocks a restaurant then said restaurant must suck. No wonder you are a Raiders fan.

      • JJJ says:

I always took that traitorous lech they made you date at the beginning of GTA4 to burger shot. Glad I never took her anywhere nicer! 🙂

I’m through with burger king as well. Went through the other morning and ordered two sausage biscuits with cheese. Total $3.90. Huh? The sausage biscuit is a dollar. I even asked the girl to make sure she hadn’t rung up sausage egg and cheese, and she explained using a very condescending tone that she was charging me $0.50 for cheese. She made no sense. Even if she charged me fifty cents per sandwich, that still should have only been $3. Why was i being charged an extra $.90? This was before tax. I ended up driving away. Their biscuits are horrible (this wasn’t for me) and I’m definitely not going to be over charged for the displeasure.
