New Spicy Big Fish and Spicy BLT Whopper from Burger King

Burger King has a new seafood option this season to go along with its Big Fish sandwich (reviewed in 2009 and 2014).  This year BK is offering the new Spicy Big Fish which features a spicy sauce instead of the traditional tartar sauce.  The sandwich is made up of a panko-breaded 100% White Alaskan Pollock filet topped with creamy spicy sauce, pickles, lettuce on a toasted brioche-style bun.  It’s worth pointing out that the Big Fish reviewed in 2009 and 2014 had different buns, and the 2015 has yet another new bun. Nutrition-wise, the Spicy Big Fish packs 470 calories, 24 grams of fat, 1150 milligrams of sodium, and 15 grams of protein.  Suggested price of $3.69 and a part of the 2 for $5 Mix & Match deal which includes the original Big Fish, the Big King and the Original Chicken Sandwich.

Spicy Big Fish BKIf fish sandwiches aren’t your thing, there’s the new Spicy BLT Whopper.  This new Whopper features a 1/4 pound beef patty, American cheese, spicy bacon sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles and smoked bacon on a toasted sesame seed bun.  750 calories, 46 grams of fat, 17 grams of saturated fat, 1480 milligrams of sodium, 48 grams of carbs, 29 grams of protein.

I was interested in the new whopper until I read spicy bacon sauce. Gross. Burger King has a really solid breakfast menu thats way underrated imo, but their lunch/dinner menu doesn’t have any items that draw me in.

I wasn’t really interested in the whopper until I read spicy bacon sauce. Sounds fantastic! I only tend to get breakfast at Taco Bell, as far as BK’s daytime menu, the A1 Burger they were promoting was quite good, and a Tendercrisp (when fresh) is still amongst the best chicken sandwiches in fast food.

I just wish theyd bring back the Angry Whopper. But I guess ill just make the angry sauce myself and put it on a good burger. BK is just the bottom rung of the Fast Food ladder for me, and I literally dont eat there ever. and I eat fast food every day for the most part. I might check out their breakfast since the poster before me says its good, but dinner? Ill take Whataburger, steaknshake, carls junior, wendys, whatever first.

Spicy bacon sauce? Just bring back the Chipotle Whopper which had pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo. Best Whopper I ever had!

The BK Big Fish that I remember from 10 years ago was a big filet of fish with shredded lettuce mixed with tartar sauce for whatever reason. It wasn’t the best, but it was tasty and very filling. I had their fish as recent as 12 months ago and the filet was similar to McDonald’s and the taste was very poor. I’m not sure if I’d be willing to pay to try a new version. I know NK is trying, but I think they are on their slow way out.

Is this the same spicy sauce they used to have for the Spicry Tendercrisp. It was great!

I tried the Spicy Fish today and it was good. Nice little kick with the sauce, but the filet was not big at all. BK used to have a gigantic filet, but this is now McD’s size. I liked the bun, though.
