There’s not one word in that description that doesn’t sound like perfection. Unfortunately, no JITB in my neck.

doesn’t sound bad, hope they use lots of peppercorn mayo

Onion rings on a burger and no BBQ sauce. Sounds good.

I tried this for lunch today. I was a bit concerned because I got a bacon swiss buttery jack once by accident, and all you could taste was salt, salt, salt. It really needed something to break up the saltiness. But the onion rings and peppercorn mayo do a pretty good job of giving it some extra texture and flavor. I also thought it might be too peppery, but actually I didn’t think it was peppery enough. Pretty good though. I would get it again. Now, bring back the “Hot Mess” JB.

Has Jack in the Box figured out how to make their hamburger patties not tasty like hot garbage?

    Probably not!

Agree with the comments about it not being peppery enough. In fact I didn’t even really notice the black pepper. The mayo was a little spotty on the coverage. But the bacon was crisp and plentiful. This burger was really really good.

Fyi, I pulled into my San Diego “Jack in the Box” today and they were changing out the menus and posting new signs. They have now switched the majority of their burgers to using a gourmet bun. For example, the Jumbo Jack and Ultimate Cheeseburger now come with a gourmet bun similar to the sirloin burgers. Not sure if this is just local or nationwide. Keep an eye out!

The real news here is the Steak & Egg Burrito is back! Best thing to have ever been on Jack’s breakfast menu.

  13. BigBelly says:

This is a damn good burger, best thing they’ve put out in awhile, wish they’d leave it on the menu… and update those horrible onion rings
