New BBQ Beef n’ Cheddar from Roy Rogers

I don’t think I’ve ever posted anything related to Roy Rogers restaurants that wasn’t met with at least one comment of shock that the restaurant still exists.  So with that I’ll link to the list of Roy Rogers locations while throwing out a shameless plug to my favorite Roy’s sandwich and posting about their newest sandwich… the BBQ Beef n’ Cheddar.  The new BBQ Beef n’ Cheddar sandwich features slow-cooked 100% USDA Choice Top Round Roast Beef that is sliced to order, served with cheddar cheese sauce and topped off with a drizzle of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce on a buttered Kaiser roll.

So, is this basically Arby’s on the East Coast?

I remember Roy Rogers being around when I was a little kid, haven’t seen them since then. I always thought they changed their name to Arby’s because nobody knew who Roy Rogers was anymore. Turns out that’s not the case, looks good though.

Why anyone would put Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce on anything is beyond me. It has to be the worst sauce I have ever had. Way to sweet. Would over power the entire sandwich in my opinion.

Man, I used to love stopping at Roy Rogers as a kid on the way home from the beach. Now there all just rest stop locations.

Roy Rogers in NYC always served one of the best ff burgers around. Usually a little pink in the middle – you actually thought you were eating real chopped meat.
