New Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza and New Double Chocolate Chip Brownie Coming to Papa John’s on February 2nd

I paid attention to my paper mail today and noticed an ad for Papa John’s and a couple of new products coming next week.  Starting Monday, February 2nd, Papa John’s will be offering a new Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza ($12 for a large) and a new Double Chocolate Chip Brownie ($6.00).  The Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza is reminiscent of last year’s Double Cheeseburger Pizza which featured pickles.  The new pizza looks like it’s topped with pickles as well.

I work there and I can say the pizza tastes better if you ask for BBQ sauce in place of the burger sauce.

Did they learn their lesson last year?! The double cheeseburger pizza was the worst pizza ever. The pickles overpowered the pizza and the sauce tasted like trash.

Feels like they are just so lazy, I know the brownie is new but it feels like papa johns keeps creativity in quarantine.

My wife made me order papa John’s the other night. What happened to their pizza? It wasn’t that great before, but passable for chain pizza. What we received was just awful. I mean Pizza Hut awful. Spongy crust, fake tasting cheese, crappy sausage and bland pepperoni. My wife wanted the chicken BBQ pizza, and is was pretty much the same accept that the sauce was sweet BBQ that tasted horrible and overpowered the entire pie. the once great garlic butter dipping sauce was nothing more than garlic oil no matter how much I shook it.

Never again! That’s it for me. The only pizza chain I will buy from, from here on out, is Donatos. I am fortunate enough to have the only one in the entire region near my place of residence. Still not as good as the local mom & pop pizza parlors, but they are at least unique and offer a truly decent chain pizza.

Oh we love Donato’s too. Their meatball topping is terrific.

Always a manner of one’s personal opinion, many feel Donatos is awful and you can’t compare a Chain to local Pizzeria’s small restaurants can make everything fresh and can buy local ingredients and alter recipes as they like, whereas chains are told what ingredients to use, given those and only those to use, told how much of it to use per pizza, and forced not to alter anything.

To Each of their own. I happen to like Pizza Hut. I think you just found a good place. I’ve been to local pizza places that were great and ones that were terrible. Also, there’s something to be said for consistency, it’s nice knowing exactly what you’re going to get from a chain..Papa John’s is not as terrible as you make it seem.

You can try putting the sauce in the freezer for a few minutes and then it will thicken. You can also order your pizza with light sauce and that should cut back on the sweetness.

Pizza Hut is actually pretty decent these days, so is Dominos.

I just got the coupons for this yesterday. Brownies with pizza sounds like a good idea.

Is there any reason not to be?
