New at Sonic: Ultimate Chicken Sandwich and Real Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches

I was passing by my local Sonic in Maryland and came across some signage with “NEW” written on it so I had to stop for some quick pics.  The new Ultimate Chicken Sandwich has been spotted in test markets earlier this year so either this is an extension of the test or the national release just hasn’t been officially announced.  There’s the Traditional option which comes with mayo and crinkle-cut pickles on a bakery quality brioche bun or Classic which comes with mayo, lettuce and tomatoes.  Priced at $5.99.

Ultimate Chicken Sandwich SonicAlso new to the Sonic menu are Real Ice Cream Cookie SandwichesI love a good chipwich.  Your choices are Ultimate Chip Cookie Sandwich and Chocolate Chip Cookie Sandwich.  See menu for pricing… forgot to grab that info so I’ll update this post when I do.

No way would I pay $6 just for a chicken sandwich from Sonic.

  2. Alec says:

Why pay $6 for a frozen chicken sandwich at Sonic when I can get a fresh one at Chick-Fil-A for less than $4?

  3. Snackeroo says:

Those chicken sandwiches are way overpriced, I’d rather go to Chick-fil-A.

  4. Dank meme bro says:

6 dollars for a chicken sandwich is crazy anywhere you go. I’m pretty sure you can get 2 chicken sandwiches at chik-fil-a for 6 bucks.

  5. xam says:

Well, if you spend money at Chik-Fil’A, you are helping finance some rather awful political movements, so there is that.

  6. BBB says:

You could get 12 50 cent corn dogs for the price of one chicken sammich. Come on Sonic!

  7. Tony says:

Brioche is the new pretzel bun.

  8. BBB says:

You can get 12 corn dogs for the same price. Come on Sonic!

    Ultimate Chicken Sandwich was AWFUL!
Don’t know if it was a fluke or what but it looked real good but it had a weird texture.
Very tough to cut and hard to bite into.
I was craving a chik-fil-a and was hoping it would be close. NOT EVEN!
That was some weird chicken and we couldn’t take a second bite.
NOT RECOMMENED EVEN IF IT WAS $1.00

I tried the classic one and it was pretty good. Slightly sweet squishy bun and the breading was crisp like it was freshy fried. Expensive but fairly well executed.

  11. Ben Morris-Rains says:

I had the classic today and thought it was awesome! Not as good as Chic Fil A, but Chic Fil A doesn’t have chili cheese tots for when you are hungover as hell. This was a damn good chicken sandwich in my opinion. It was hot, flaky and crunchy. They must have fried it to order. I would recommend.
