I was near-obsessed with these when they were test marketed here in the greater Cincy area earlier this year, so I’m glad to see they made the cut nationally. They’re all pretty damn decent, but the clear winner of the three is the habanero, and as a lover of TB’s lava sauce, I might add that the habanero sauce makes a *damned* fine substitution. So I look very forward to having it added to all manner of other menu items.

I live in Cincinnati and these are good. The Ghost Pepper one was probably one of the hotter items I have had at a fast food restaurant. Glad to see them back.

Tried the habenero today. It was pathetic. I’ll try the ghost pepper, but I don’t have faith in it. Then again, I’m from New Mexico, and when most people are furiously wiping their tongues off, I’m like, it has a nice, sweet flavor to it.

  3. SPM79 says:

I am fairly confident they will cost more than $1 in most markets

  4. edh says:

    I will try these.

Are ghost peppers the new pretzel bun?

  6. Ron says:

If they don’t make you blind & give you superpowers I’m calling it false advertising.

  7. NamebranD says:

Wonder how hot these are compared to that Wendy’s ghost pepper sauce from a few months ago. I could taste way more salt than pepper in that sauce, and it hardly fazed me.

  8. Snackeroo says:

I need to try that ghost pepper Griller! I’m a bit bummed they don’t have their Diablo sauce anymore so I hope this has some heat.

  9. Sascha says:

Ooh, sweet! I don’t actually care at all about these, but it gives me hope that I’ll get to see my Frito chili burrito again.

I normally don’t care for Taco Bell, but these looked good, so I gave it a shot. I had the ghost pepper one, it was really good, had quite a bit of heat to it. I also ordered a habanero one, but they accidentally put in a stuffed nacho instead, which was so, so.

I wrote off Taco Bell…Didn’t go for a couple years, tried it again and still didn’t like it. After not eating at one for another 3-4 years, a few days ago I was going through the drive thru for the family and saw the grillers. Being a fan of hot/spicy food and each griller priced at just $1 each, I decided “what the heck”. I was pleasantly surprised! A good amount of heat for a fast food item and a good amount of food for only $1. I’d eat them again.

had a couple of the ghost pepper ones today. First one was surprisingly hot, had to reach for my drink after every bite. Seemed like the heat came out of nowhere since it tastes like a normal blandish griller. Second one had almost no heat, so I assume they’re hit or miss.

  12. Drayskull says:

That Ghost Pepper Griller is the hottest thing Taco Bell has ever sold. The Habanero one is good and I would order again. Didn’t try Chipotle.

  13. Aaron says:

Reportedly next month LAVA is back! Quesalupa in October

  14. Jake says:

Gave the ghost pepper a try today and definitely the hottest sauce I’ve tried at a major fast food chain in a while. As a spicy food fan, I loved it. Can’t wait to try the habanero as well. I miss the limited time Diablo sauce!

  15. Dorian says:

Tried all three between yesterday and today. The chipotle is pretty average in taste and heat for Taco Bell. Nothing exciting. Habenero sauce has pretty good flavor and heat. Not too overwhelming heat-wise but definitely noticeable. The ghost pepper sauce is pretty hot. It won’t make you go blind or give you superpowers but it will probably clear out your sinuses and make you reach for your drink every few bites. The griller product itself isn’t that special but the sauces are pretty good and a pretty good value at $1 each.

  16. MP says:

    Just finished these.
The Chipotle had a smokey taste.
The Habanero (to me) tasted the most hot for some reason.
The Ghost Pepper is still no Lava sauce. It was creamy & had a slight vinegar tang to it, and I want to say a hint of cinnamon aftertaste. It was something sweet.

I have tried every allegedly “hot” item that comes out–and lately it seems like every ff chain has one. Not eating ff too often, it’s become a chore–and NONE are nearly as hot as I’m looking for. I think Hardee’s ‘diablo’ burger was okay, but the jalapenos on it were canned an I didn’t think they were hot at all. I’ve yet to try these “daredevil” ‘loaded’ grillers, but from what y’all are saying, it sounds like it’s gonna be yet another disappointment..
