HA.1.Loween Whopper Coming to Burger King

Thanks to @Burger_Lad on Twitter for the heads-up that Burger King will be releasing a WHOPPER with a black bun later this month.  It’s called the HA.1.LOWEEN WHOPPER and it features  everything you’d find in a typical WHOPPER sandwich (burger patty, cheese, pickles, onions, tomato, lettuce, mayo) plus A.1. steak sauce and of course… the black bun.

blogger-image--1843093313Black burger buns aren’t anything new to places like Japan, but this is a big leap for a North American fast food release.  First Pizza Hut’s in the U.S. finally released hot dog stuffed crust and now BK brings us this novelty.  Times are changing… remember when Taco Bell had the Black Jack Taco?

The only thing I get out of this article is that it has the stupidest name for a fast food item ever. I can’t wait to see people stumbling over it and trying to pronounce it “right” instead of just saying Halloween

  2. ahecht says:

Not only does that look pretty gross, but A.1. sauce is an abomination. Why couldn’t they use something that actually tastes good, like Heinz 57 Sauce, or if they must go with a traditional steak sauce at least use something less overpowering such as Lea & Perrins.

  3. Justin ST says:

    Only ten dollars, lol.

  4. Bryan K. says:

What is ha.1.loween supposed to mean? Is that supposed to be some failed attempt to be trendy and create some hashtag like lingo? Give me a break please… some of these companies are just starting to become lame. I’m not trying to be a negative nancy but no one wants to type or try to figure out what that means or how to pronounce that.

    • Bryan L says:

There is A.1. steak sauce on the burger. In Leetspeak, a 1 represents an L. So in this case “HA.1.LOWEEN” is just an alternate representation of text that replaces letters with numbers.

  5. Xombiwulf says:

OK. My only question is what does the bun taste like?

  6. Mr.Gnarly says:

“I’m Down Like A Clown, Charlie Brown”

  7. Thistle says:

Any idea what’s behind this “HA.1.LOWEEN” name? Seems very odd, more like a typo than a name.

Also, I have zero interest in a black bun, but since it’s at BK, I had no interest in eating there anyway, so it works out.

  8. Robert says:

Okay, this is a great idea, but what on earth does HA.1.LOWEEN mean?

  9. sortov says:

    Who okays this?

    • MP says:

The same people who created “Satisfries” & a hybrid burger with a fierce rival and trying to do everything different from everyone else while failing miserably.

  10. Nathan says:

Let’s keep it coming America! I must try this, even though it’s just a novelty item. Maybe next we can get the Double Down burger.

  11. Jonathan Wayne says:

Bah, they’re not doing it right like they do overseas, pass. If you aren’t going yo do it the right way why bother?

  12. brad h says:

I think the buns just got stuck in the toaster, it not really a new sandwich.

  13. Sylvia says:

If it’s anything like a squid ink bun then it’ll be delicious. If it’s just black food colouring then forget it.

  14. PT says:

It has A.1. Steack Sauce in it, thus the weird name.

  15. Rusty Shackleford says:

i love A1 on burgers and BKs bacon A1 burger is alright, so I’ll probably give this a try.. Too bad the whopper is a shadow of its former self though

  16. Michael says:

Why is everyone ragging on the name. Does it really matter.
Black bun finally. Too bad it is just a normal bun. Too bad Whopper probably won’t be good.

  17. JF says:

A.1. hasn’t been branded as a steak sauce for quite sometime. I hope BK isn’t actually including “steak sauce” in their description. If so, wonder how long that crap has been sitting in their warehouse.

As for the bun, I really can’t see anyone eating a bun that looks nothing but a burnt bun.

But it’s BK, so I’ve come to expect nothingness.
