El Diablo Thickburger from Hardee’s
We are currently in the season of Lent so the Redhook Beer-Battered Cod Fish Sandwich is being featured at Hardee’s. Next in line looks like a big contrast… call it the battle of good versus evil. GrubGrade reader Grant (@gwalkamoly on Twitter) sent over a menu image of the newest Thickburger from Hardee’s and it’s called El Diablo (The Devil in Español).
El Diablo Thickburger features Cheesy Jalapeño Poppers, sliced jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, bacon & a fiery habanero sauce on a Fresh Baked Bun. Grant says El Diablo had “good texture and heat.” Priced at $6.19 for the 1/3 lb. burger and $7.49 for the 1/2 lb. burger. Also available as Big Chicken El Diablo. El Diablo hasn’t been released nationally yet, but some locations get the next LTO early (Springfield, Illinois) so keep an eye out for it.
Those bacon strips are dangling from the popper precipice.
Thanks, but no thanks!
I hope this gets a national release. The crispy fried and sliced jalapeños remind me of the Jalapeño Double from McD’s.
I’m all for ridiculous burgers, but my god, jalapeno poppers? Really? I can’t imagine they’d be better on the burger versus on the side. But I still wanna try this.
It’s nice to see the chicken option being cheaper than the 1/3 lb burger. Considering what beef prices are, I still don’t understand why chicken is typically an upcharge.
Hmmmmm….me thinks there is way too much going on with this burger. I can’t imagine trying to eat it without a knife and fork. Too messy for me to want to try it, especially at that price point.
Jesus Christ.
If you have the poppers, do you need the sliced jalapenos too?
It was released in Chattanooga today
Tried it today with a coupon. It’s very good and has some heat to it. Don’t knock it til you try it.
Not for the timid. I took the poppers off and had them as a side.
That’s a good idea. I will try that next time
At least this is moderately interesting. All their other limited offers lately have been really lame. First, they had a bbq/onion string thing that was almost the same as The Western (dry), then they had a burger with chopped bacon (boring), now they have the All Natural burger (are you kidding me?). This, I will have to try.
My local Hardee’s handed out free samples today. It tasted awesome!!

I am probably going to cry when they stop making the El Diablo. That isn’t he best sandwich I’ve ever had !!!
I thoroughly enjoyed mine, but then I like big sloppy hot burgers You can always tone it down to suit your taste by picking off a few jalapenos and poppers
