Wendy’s Bacon Portabella Melt on Brioche is Back

Wendy’s has brought back its Bacon Portabella Melt on Brioche for another limited time run.  This burger was first introduced in 2012 (review) and reintroduced in 2013 with the Broche bun.  The Bacon Portabella Melt on Brioche features a quarter-pound hamburger patty, sautéed portabella mushrooms, a slice of American cheese, cheddar cheese sauce and Applewood Smoked Bacon on a French-style brioche bun. Recommended price $4.99.  610 calories, 35 grams of fat, 1400 milligrams of sodium, 34 grams of protein

    Can’t wait. This is my favorite thing from Wendy’s.

      Got one today. Both slices of cheese – previous ones had only 1 slice or forgot the bacon completely(!) – bacon & lots of cheese sauce so it was very juicy. Only complaint is the brioche bun – it’s just too stiff, dry & like seat cushion foam. Next time I’m getting $2 off with the receipt survey coupon & a regular bun.
      They should make this a permanent item & also have a jr. version.

        Got another one on Saturday – this time with a regular premium bun – much, much better. Tho for whatever reason, they gave me a slice of cheddar (it was dark & translucent) instead of 2 American cheese slices. The regular price also went up 20 cents to $5.19. The mushrooms seemed pretty lacking – a few small shards. Back in the 1990s it came with canned mushrooms that seemed to cover the whole burger.

    With Wendy’s obsession with throwing out brioche items over and over again, I’m just beginning to accept that they’ll never release the insanely tasty 4-Alarm Chicken Sandwich again.

    …to be fair though, of all of their “fauxmet” atrocities, this one wasn’t too bad.

    I ordered this two days okay. The bun was a little dry, and overall I was surprised about how small it was. I even ordered the double. It seemed about half the size of a Five Guys burger. Still hungry afterwards.

    PLEASE BRING IT BACK, ITS ONE OF THE BEST BURGERS YOU HAVE ON THE MENU. IT SHOULD BE A STAPLE ITEM.

    This is the best burger on the menu and I don’t understand why it’s only for a limited time. It should be a permanent staple item.
