Taco Bell Testing Sriracha Menu

Fast food Mexican grub meets Thai chili sauce.  A GrubGrade reader reached out with first impressions of a Sriracha Menu testing in the Kansas City metro area.  The test menu looks to include a new Sriracha Beef Griller (with Sriracha Beef) and Sriracha Grande Scrambler for breakfast and pretty much anything else you’d like to put “Sriracha Crema” on.

I stopped by and got a sriracha loaded griller for $1.29. They also had sriracha nachos for $2.49 and a quesarito for $2.29. The sriracha was hard to see in the griller so I couldn’t tell what kind of consistency it had. It didn’t taste anything like traditional sriracha and had a distinctive vinegary taste as well. But it was the spiciest item I’ve had from Taco Bell in recent memory.

    Sriracha is disgusting and overrated.

i had the sriracha big box today which was just a locos taco, regular taco, and the sriracha quesarito. It was pretty tasty, I agree it was the spiciest thing I’ve had from TB but it wasn’t very distinct.

Nice… I’ll be driving through Kansas City in a few weeks. I’ll have to check it out.

If you’re coming through KC, I would say skip the Taco Bell and either grab some BBQ from one of the world famous restaurants in town, or get a burger at Burger Stand in Lawrence/Topeka. That way, when you stop to eat in the area, it’s not just another meal… it’s an experience.

Sriracha is so late-2013. Way to keep up, Taco Bell:

    What’s next, a bacon pretzel-bun menu?

  7. Viktor says:

Siracha is not a Mexican or Tex-mex ingredient, this is just a poor fad. TB needs to get back to basics.

Jack in the Box has some type of Sriracha sauce in their breakfast burrito but I couldn’t taste it. They also have a new Sriracha burger which I haven’t tried yet. Subway also has a Sriracha sauce you could add to any sandwich. So Taco Bell is only the third chain to offer a Sriracha sauce.

This isn’t the latest fashion trends here, this is fast food. Who comments about sriracha going out of style? lol
