New Tender Pork & Gravy Biscuit Sandwich from McDonald’s

Back in 2011 we brought you news of McDonald’s testing the Tender Pork & Gravy Biscuit Sandwich on biscuits made from scratch every morning.  The test market then was Lynchburg, Virginia and I’ve been receiving information from GrubGrade readers that the sandwich is now available in select South Carolina locations.  A little research into South Carolina-based McDonald’s locations shows the Tender Pork & Gravy Biscuit Sandwich is a breakfast item and it’s available through December 9th.  They’re also promoting Peach and Strawberry Iced Teas through December 9th.

Wow sure hope these menu items find their way up to Ohio! They all sound really good.

  2. Julie says:

They had sausage gravy and biscuits a few years ago here in Ohio. Are you guys not remembering it or was it just in certain areas? It wasn’t very good.

  3. Jay Melo says:

Is it ground pork? It seems strange that it’s pork but not sausage.

Scratch made and McDonald’s do not go together…

I would be eager to try it to see what kind of pork they give you, is it McRib type processed pork product or an actual piece of pork.

  6. […] GrubGrade reports that the biscuits and gravy is currently available at select South Carolina McDonald’s locations. The biscuit would be “scratch made,” which would also be a new change for the breakfast menu at McDonald’s. The breakfast item will be sold for $1.99 individually or $3.39 as a meal through Dec. 9th, along with Peach and Strawberry Ice Teas which they’re also testing. Seeing the pricing on that reminds me how much more expensive stuff is in AK. McD breakfast sandwiches here range from 3.40 to 3.80 or so and it’s 5 something for the combo.

  8. Robert says:

I’m not sure the scratch-made biscuits will matter. Their biscuits are already eons ahead of Burger King’s or KFC’s.

So wait, is this a pork patty or just sausage chunks? I’m guessing it’s a patty? Sounds messy.

I live in North Carolina, specifically in the Western half of the state in the foothills, and we’ve had these biscuits here for years. I know in 2011 they made a comeback and they are a limited time item like the McRib. They’re also $2.87 or so with tax here…much more than $1.99. They’re not too messy, and it’s a patty type deal with the sausage gravy they use for the Gravy Biscuits.
