I’ve had the current version of this burger, and while the burger tastes good, the butter top sprinkled with garlic salt makes the sandwich a bloody mess. If you are doing drive thru and getting this, it is a mess.

Next time I will order without the buttered and salted top.

Why is the price $5.49 when the garlic double steakburger is still on the $4 menu (at least as per their website)?

What is different with this Garlic Double Steakburger than the current $4 meal one that’s been around for yonks? Other than a bigger price tag now.

  4. Riley Martin says:

Hasn’t the garlic double been out for over a year? It was on the $4 value menu I believe.

If you’re a garlic lover, that new burger is amazing. It’s been out in SC for a while and I’ve had it every time I’ve gone. It is incredibly greasy, but I like that in a burger. Five stars!

Had you previously had the $4 garlic burger? If so, how do they differ? Nothing in the description makes it sound like there’s a difference.

It’s the exact same thing that was released. And it was in the $3.99 section. I guess it must’ve been the most popular one, since they’ve upped the price. :\

No, the burger is not new. The promotion is. The $5.49 price is for the burger AND fries. You can still get the burger a la carte for $3.99.

    • Manavee says:

Fries were included with the previous $3.99 price.

I know beef prices are higher, but that’s almost a 40% mark up after only a year.

I did notice that on their website, so sorry for that oversight. Although strange thing is the SNS near me, which was taken over by corporate due to pricing issues, only offered the burger for $3.99, fries were not included. But clearly they are (or should be) based on their website, which also has this burger still listed as a $3.99 option and a $5.49 option. Odd.

Got a coupon today for this burger and fries for $3.99. Steak n Shake is coupon crazy if you live nearby.

I wish some Steak-N-Shakes would open in my state. I see commercials so often and the food and deals look so good and then I remember there aren’t any here. The only reason we see commercials is due to getting channels from a state over. I’ll also be happy when this garlic fad some restaurants are having now passes. Nothing against people who like garlic and can tolerate it though.
