Panera is just gross now. They need to get back to making good sandwiches and quit doing the pasta and flatbread nonsense.

    • TJ says:

I don’t think it’s that bad, a little variety never hurts… That being said almost every time I take a chance on the place I feel like I paid a little too much for what I got and received really pretentious service for no reason. Kind of like Starbucks for another good example of that.

  2. Karen says:

I agree with you, Justin. Not to mention, the past few times I have eaten their food, I have become very ill afterwords. I get severe migraines, and I’m fairly certain that they have started putting preservatives in some of their food. Needless to say, I haven’t eaten there since then.

  3. Sam says:

Panera’s flatbreads are gross, but the flatbread contents are actually very good. I’ve gotten both the Thai and Southwest flatbreads, but put them on three-cheese bread instead for an excellent sandwich.

That being said, the Turkey flatbread concoction seems pretty unexciting.

  4. Jonathan Wayne says:

I like their food for the most part, I just don’t think it is a very good value for the money. One of those places I go to once in awhile, but not often.

  5. Jeremy Ross says:

I think that Panera is tasty and in our area it is affordable. My family of 3 eats there without 3 drinks for $21 – $24, and we usually feel quite full.

They put cookies in the ravioli???

I’m all for healthy and quality ingredients but I think Panera is specifically targeting a demographic that may eventually send them spiraling downward. It might just be a management problem at some locations. I’m sticking with the sub shops for my sandwiches. That’s all they do and they do it well and the value is better. But if you are into coffee, bagels, and maybe a sandwich at a place that tries to be trendy, then Panera bread is a good choice. I just know that I have spent an average of $10 for a meal there and it was delicious but too much money for my budget. Seeing how the fast food chains have begun raising prices, I’m sure Panera will be at $12 for a sandwich, drink, and chips.

I was amazed at how good the turkey cranberry flatbread was; maybe it is the particular store I went to.

Have several chef and server friends at 4 of the best restaurants in the city who are really into food and cooking and I eat their food a lot. I have traveled quite a bit. ..eating and drinking (and exercise) being my focus. ..

Get the little card they offer…I only go about once every couple of months and have gotten probably 8 free pastries. For some reason they gave me a $2.00 credit today, so it cost only 3.99 plus tax. Just the right size…dont necessarily want volume just cause price is good. True when I feel I’m getting value I tend to give the food a much better rating as I get more excited!

The flatbreads are good. But I feel they fill it with alot of spinach and very little chicken. The flatbread price is high IMO. $5.79! I go occasionally, every 2 weeks because the price is high. If I’m able to earn $60k then I’d go more often as I’d have more disposable income.

But I do like that Panera gives free wifi.
I sat once all day from 8-930 and they didnt say anything.

I hated my turkey flat bread sandwich, with cranberry. They show it on T.V. with about 4 large slices of turkey and half of side covered with cranberries. That is not what I got. Small pieces of turkey not slices. Very little cranberries, maybe I can see why, I expected the cran. not to be so sweet. I also expected the turkey to be cold, I hate turkey warmed up. I cannot eat most of there food because it is way to high in sodium and I feel sick, B.P. up and feet swollen, I will not eat there again. Gave it 3 tries now.

  11. Gen says:

I got a reply from who I don’t saying my e-mail was a repeat, that bull

    what is BP ?

  13. Dave says:

First all we love Panera, and go to various outlets several times a week. However the flatbreads are not up to their standards from what I’ve tried. The turkey and bread is usually drowned in the cranberry juice dripping all over, and the whole sandwich is pretty boring.

  14. Michelle says:

The turkey flatbread is good but I ate it in about three bites. At nearly 6$ that is way too expensive. Also my rapid pick up order was not ready when I got there and had to wait for them later to tell me they are out of the dessert i ordered. Very dissatisfied with my last visit.

I think by “B.P. up” she means her blood pressure is up. Sounds mega-paranoid to me but whatev – they aren’t too picky about comments here.
