Chick-fil-A’s New Grilled Chicken Recipe with Backyard Grilled Taste

It was officially announced today that on April 14th, Chick-fil-A will roll-out its new grilled chicken recipe nationwide with three featured entrees – the Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich and Chick-fil-A Grilled Nuggets.  The new chicken marinade includes sea salt, lemon, garlic and savory herbs.

Chickfila New Grilled Chicken

Chick-fil-A’s new recipe features an unmatched backyard grilled taste. Each grilled chicken breast is freshly marinated with a blend of sea salt, lemon, garlic and savory herbs, and cooked on a state-of-the-art, proprietary grill developed by Chick-fil-A. The technique creates a tender, juicy filet with just the right amount of smoky flavor. To make this menu enhancement possible, Chick-fil-A invested seven years of testing and more than $50 million to reinvent its grilled chicken recipe. The largest portion of the investment came as the company worked with Garland Grills to create a proprietary grill. This grill sears chicken perfectly on cast-iron grates like it was cooked on a backyard grill, only faster.

I actually had the club today. Didn’t know it was new. There was only a Mcdonald’s and Chick-fil-A where we were working. Got on my phone to check the menu before we sent the guy out to get lunch. I was quite surprised on the first bite. Was totally expecting a bland chicken sandwich(the reason I opted for the club). But between the lemon, garlic and herbs it was pretty tasty. I’m thinking lemon chicken/thanksgiving turkey(herbs) slight grill taste, I also enojoyed the bun. Didn’t use the honey bbq sauce though, just mayo.

Overall it was a pretty good sandwich. Was unaware of the price. I didn’t order or pay for it so…. I was thinking $5.50 was too much as I read the article and thought back on the size of the sandwich. But now I’m compared to other fast food chicken sandwiches. It’s bigger/better than most(except Wendy’s, my fav). So for $1 extra, it’s really not that bad a value. Respectively of course.

You MUST try this sandwich with Chikfila sauce. No kidding, I get 5 packets with every order. It will change your life.

I was at Chick-Fil-A this morning for breakfast and noticed they now have a fish sandwich as well… pretty interesting.

You missed out by not using the honey roasted bbq sauce. It’s one of the best sauces out there, sometimes i even use it on a mcdonalds sausage mcmuffin.

I tried this a couple weeks ago. To be honest, it wasn’t THAT different from their old grilled chicken. Similar marinated taste and uncanny tenderness. The main difference, I guess, is the chicken was bigger and the grill flavor/sear was a bit more prominent.

It was “good”, but wow the cost was high. I had the standard combo plus an additional fruit cup. $12. Jeez, for that I’m wondering if I could have had legit charcoal grilled chicken fajitas at a sit down restaurant.

Loved the old CFA grilled chicken, but the new one has an odd tomato taste in it now. I however, it works well when chick fil a sauce is added.

The sandwich may be good but the bread probably makes a huge difference. The nuggets are slimy and gross.

  7. John Craigie says:

The backyard taste is gross! Chicken breast dry and hard – do well as some part of your shoe.
The original grilled chicken was awesome – just great! Now moved to Zaxby’s – miss the waffle fries.

Can we not have an option for the original grilled chicken – many people really miss it!
I would dump Zaxbys in a heart we could have it again. Lots of Zaxbys customers are ex-chick-fil-a for the same reason!

I’ve never had dry and hard chicken from Chick-Fil-A. Your Chick-Fil-A must have screwed up. Must be nice to have Zaxby’s near you. Closest Zaxby’s is 128 miles from here.
