New Pizza Bites from Jack in the Box

For a limited time, Jack in the Box is offering a new Pizza Bites side item.  Marvo from The Impulsive Buy spotted them yesterday and forwarded me a pic.  Keep in mind he’s in Hawaii where the prices can be a bit higher, but the 3-pc is $1.99 and a 6-pc is $3.89.  JITB Pizza Bites look like a heartier spin on Totino’s Pizza Rolls.

Pizza dough stuffed with pepperoni, melted mozzarella cheese, oven-dried tomatoes, and mixed with a blend of garlic, herbs and spices. Served with a side of marinara dipping sauce

What on earth is an “oven-dried tomato”? Sounds terrible haha.

I’ve seen these advertised out here in CA for a couple weeks… I’ve been tempted, but I can’t help but think they might just be almost exactly like Totino’s pizza rolls… which isn’t terrible, but it’s not really that appetizing either.

It looks like Totinos Pizza Roll filling but with a mozzarella stick style coating. Jack in the Box has lots of different things I’d like to try. Pity I’ve never seen a restaurant in person. I’d give these a try.

They had those out at my local JBox in San Jose, CA about 2 years ago. They costed around the same price, can’t really remember. They were surprisingly good, but not quite worth the price.

I finally gave in and got these tonight since I was at JITB anyway… they were really good, but for a place like Jack, I’m surprised they’re pricing them so highly. This is the chain that will sell you two decent greasy tacos for a buck… but six pizza bites are nearly $4 with tax? It was fun to try them, the quality was good, but they’re not so special that I’d ever get them again, since there are so many other tasty cheaper options there.
