Cantina Double Steak Quesadilla Is Next for Taco Bell

After nearly a year, the Cantina Menu from Taco Bell is getting a new entry.  Next in line is the Cantina Double Steak Quesadilla.  Inspired by Chef Lorena Garcia, the Cantina Double Steak Quesadilla features two servings of marinated steak and natural pepper-jack cheese and is served with a side of chips, reduced-fat sour cream and new fire roasted tomato and garlic Cantina Salsa.  We’ve kind of seen this before, but maybe the Cantina twist will be an improvement.  Suggested price $4.99.  Look for it this Thursday.Cantina Double Steak Quesadilla

4.99? Really? Yea that’s a move in the right direction. Not. If I want cantina food I’ll go to a casual Mexican restaurant. I go to taco bell for cheap Americanized fast food versions of Mexican food

You hit the nail right on the head. I’m tired of fast food places attempting to be what they’re not. It’s like watching a fat ballerina doing wobbly pirouettes.

$5 for double steak and chips and salsa doesn’t seem unreasonable to me. “Not everything can be five cents.”

Yeah, it was really a surprisingly filling meal, and $5 is not really that expensive unless you’re counting the $1 menu as your pricing baseline for fast food. I got a beefy nacho griller to go along with it and by the time I had finished the quesadilla and chips I was quite full and only managed to eat half the griller. I’m not usually a big fan of salsa either and I thought it was decent as well. For the amount of food you get, $5 seems a very reasonable price.

What is special about this? The extra steak? Will the cheese and sauce stay the same? Useless chips?

What is so great about this? LOL.

So it comes with chips too? It’s sort of a meal then. $5 isn’t that awful of a price… I’d try it at least once.

Still still still waiting waiting waiting for the beefy crunch burrito to have a permanent spot on the menuuuuu… ho-hum.

$5, $6 or more up here in Alaska then. That’s awfully pricey for Taco Bell. Especially for a Quesadilla.

  6. Pilar says:

Does it come with a drink?

  7. Esther says:

My local Taco Bell had these up on the board today, so I tried it out. I prefer the regular quesadillas. This is lots of steak, a little cheese, and I taste no sauce. I dig the salsa, though. Tastes like one of my favorite jarred salsas. It’s a good deal for the food you’re getting. Not the best thing I’ve ever had from TB, but I wouldn’t be averse to getting it again.

The steak tastes like dog meat.
