Spicy Guacamole Chicken Club from Wendy’s

I’m a fan of test market items.  From FastFoodGeek comes news of the Spicy Guacamole Chicken Club from Wendy’s.  Spotted in the Pittsburgh, the Spicy Guacamole Chicken Club consists of a spicy chicken fillet, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, guacamole, apple-wood smoked bacon, and a ranch-esque? dressing.  I have yet to encounter decent guac at a fast food joint… does the Spicy Guacamole Chicken Club look promising?

Was offered in NJ Wendys for a few weeks during the summer. Didn’t care for it, all it is, is the Spicy Chicken Club with the same pasty Guacamole they put in the Baja Salad. Just buy the Spicy Chicken Club and add your own Guacamole.

[slightly off topic but…] Is there any resource where you can see if you’re in a test market? I’m in St. Louis, and we’ve had a couple Jack in the Box breakfast items that aren’t on the website (other than nutrition info). But, they have TV ads — do test market items garner ads? The ads aren’t on the Jack Youtube channel or their website.

Specifically, they’re currently offering a 2 for $3.50 sourdough breakfast sandwich (which I had and were very good) and previously a waffle breakfast sandwich. And I still love the fact that Jack serves breakfast anytime [“I’ll have pancakes in the Age of Enlightenment.”] I wish others would do the same.

Are you sure the sourdough breakfast items are just for a test market? I’m in California, they have them here too. I might be wrong, but my guess is they just haven’t updated their website yet.

I’ve never heard of the waffle sandwich though, sounds cool. One of the only things I don’t like about Jack in the Box is how they take away some of their best items after a while. I miss the chorizo burrito, taco nachos, pastrami sandwich, etc. I totally agree about the breakfast anytime though, it’s a nice twist. I believe Sonic’s does the same, but we don’t have as many of those where I’m at.

Just saw this today in Albany NY. The boyfriend tried it and enjoyed it. I snagged a lick of the guac and it’s pretty good

  4. Wendy’s management announced the April introduction of the Spicy
Guacamole Chicken Club during its March 1 Q4 analyst call. Looks like some markets are getting an early jump on it.

I was about to say it’s being tested in the Albany area but SLR beat me to it.

If it is the same guacamole as the Spicy Santa Fe they are also testing… then it needs help. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Chipotle’s version but Wendy’s is just plain flat and boring.

What are the interest rates on the loan needed to buy this sandwich?

It was around here in Newark,NJ last year and tried one and its kinda meh the Guacamole tasted to light for me.

Quincy, IL is advertising it. I don’t plan on trying it for a review, though.

I can’t keep guacamole from turning brown within an hour – I don’t know how fast food places can keep it on hand without doctoring it considerably.

From me guac is just one of those things that should be eaten fresh.

Spotted in Waterford, Connecticut. Didn’t try it, ended up at this site looking for a review of it 🙂

@keith. Leave the pit in the gaucamole and it should stay green for a longer time.

    • Bubbsy says:

      * Hate to disagree with Well-Intentioned Will, but – Leaving the pit in the guacamole will only keep the tiny surface that the pit is covering green, because what the pit is doing is preventing air from getting to that surface it covers (oxidation).

You could place any object in the center of the guac and it would do the exact same thing for the surface beneath it.

What you want to do is press some plastic wrap down onto the surface of the guac (so it is touching down on the entire surface). That will prevent air from getting to the entire surface.

Well i went to wendys today in the Newark,NJ area where i’m from and i saw it again

$5.39 for the sandwich and $7.49 for the meal seems way to expensive in my view but i could be wrong.

I had it last week in West Virginia. It was pretty good! Except for the fact they didn’t remember to put bacon on it…
