Popeyes Dip’n Chick’n Returns Monday, September 24th

Stopping by at a local Popeyes I recently spotted a sign for the return of Dip’n Chick’n.  Looks like the scoop-shaped chicken will be back on the menu this Monday.  I reviewed Dip’n Chick’n last September if you want to check it out.  Dip’n Chick’n should be perfect to take advantage of the new dipping sauces.

Oh NO! is it the Freddy Krueger claw hand chicken??

I enjoyed these, as I enjoy most things from Popeye’s. The deal is good, but they always forget the side sauces at my popeyes. Same thing happened with my “cajun shrimp” box.

Annoying, plus those were horribly dry; I ordered because of your fantastic review and was greatly disappointed.

Avoid soda… BYOB to save $$$$ … afterall, this IS a special promotion. At the end of the day you want it to be cost efficient, with a better-than-average portion size and to taste well/be something interesting, or something the business doesn’t offer regularly, or a fan favorite (McRib, Dorito’s Loco Tacos).

Around DC, you can usually get a soda for a dollar with a LTO. I don’t think anyones goal here is to lower the margins of the restaurants, that wouldn’t be good for anyone…

Plus most of the popeyes here have freestyle machines!

Do people actually like the freestyle machines? I think even the regular Coke tastes bad.

For example, Cherry Coke isn’t the same as what you’d get in a bottle, but rather Coke mixed with Cherry flavored soft drink.

I’m not a fan at all.

I’ve never tried one. And my closet Popeye’s is part of a gas station, so they don’t have one. I like the fact there are so many choices, but when it comes to soda, for the last 10 years I have stuck with diet (and try to get caffeine free as well). So a simple diet coke or pepsi is all I need.

And when I see people use them, they always seem dumbfounded on how they work and/or mix like 4 or 5 different sodas in a single drink.

Now if they made one that had hard liquor, I’d get one for the home! lol

Freestyle machines are god. Every restaurant should have them. Cherry Coke? Come on man, get adventurous.

Cherry Coke or Cherry Pepsi you can seem (at least by me) anywhere they server Coke or Pepsi products.

But you do have me thinking if a Freestyle has Diet / Caffiene free coke, I can get a Diet / Caffeine Cherry Coke.

Most supermarkets near me have both, but not a caffeine free version. And it’s usually in cans (I buy the 2 liters). But never thought of that but will give it a try next time. Great tip!

I love both, but I don’t think a can / bottle version of a diet / caffeine free coke or pepsi exists. So thanks again for getting me to think outside of the box!

Edit: I meant a diet / caffiene free cherry coke or pepsi. Of course both diet / caffeine coke and pepsi exist.

My main issue with the new “freestyle” Coke machines is that they don’t have an Irish Whiskey option. Other than that, they’re pretty awesome.

I like the freestyle machines becuase they have a bunch of flavors of Hi-C you can’t get at a regular soda fountain.

It’s all about the peach sweet tea at Popeyes…hands down one of my favorite fast food beverages.

I missed this the last time they had this LTO. When I went to my local Popeye’s they were all out of it, but still had the “Alien” chicken (which is great, BTW).

I will give them a try sometime this weekend. And I agree, I think these are perfect for trying their new sauces.

    Thanks for the heads up!
