I thought they already HAD the brownie and offered it a la mode?

    • Ryan says:

The old brownie had nuts I think.

      • Crysta says:

So they took the nuts off and called it new? Someone went to the Taco Bell school of “new menu items.” 😀

Makes sense though. Nut allergies and all that.

        • Natalie says:

I don’t think it had whipped cream or a cherry on top either, just brownie and ice cream. They’re repurposing the milkshake toppings now.

          • Crysta says:

My local one would add the toppings if you asked for them, but I’m not sure how much they charged for it. Probably not much given even a bacon upgrade is less than a dollar (hell, McDonalds charged us a dollar couple times to add a slice of TOMATO to a sandwich).

  2. Manavee says:

I love me some Chik Fil A, but their ice cream is absolutely TERRIBLE. At least the soft serve I recently got at my local Chik Fil A was….it had a weird granular consistency to it, almost like it was fat free or something.

  3. TxChickenMan says:

    Manavee,

The Icedream you had was that way probably because they didn’t put the machine together right. If you don’t get the air intake balance right then the stuff comes out off-color and sometimes with ice crystals in it.

About the brownie – it used to have nuts. This is a new recipe with no nuts, different icing, and added chocolate chunks. This brownie is a lot more like fudge than cake. Pretty rich, too.

    • Manavee says:

Yes, that was probably it…..it was very “crystal-y” and just tasted off to me.

Your description of the brownie is spot-on. It is definitely more like a piece of fudge than a brownie. Unfortunately, I don’t really like fudge that much so I didn’t car for the brownie. The brownie and frosting both were very similar in terms of texture (both kind of soft and mushy) which seemed a bit weird. If you like fudge, I do think you might like this brownie, though.

    • James says:

I remember when I worked at CFA, that day after day, the ice cream came out more and more off color until it had a grayish tint to it. Finally we realized the machine parts were misaligned and grinding together and fine metal flecks were being mixed in. Nobody complained about the taste, though.

      • Manavee says:

Yeeeesh. Maybe you should have kept that story to yourself.

Hopefully, none of your customers had to have an MRI scan and had those metallic flecks rip out of their stomach a la Alien while lying in the scanner.

  4. Rusty Shackleford says:

Not exactly what I meant in the email I sent to Chik Fil A when I said I wanted ‘Sunday service’

    -ba dum tss-

    • Klee says:

Lol, that’s funny…. I had the cookie Sunday and it was pretty dang good, realizing now that the brownie is completely new, I’ll have to give it a try next.

  5. Daniel N says:

I’m going to try out the fudge brownie tonight, I’ll let you know how it turns out.

  6. Lindsay says:

Why do those pictures look unappetizing? I mean, love cookies, brownies, ice cream but those pictures are sort of…blah.

  7. Natalie says:

I’m pretty upset they changed the brownie. The old one was delicious. I used to eat them all the time when I worked there in high school.

  8. Daniel n says:

The new brownie was really good and better than the old brownie. It’s almost as good as the brownie at firehouse sub.

  9. James says:

The new brownie is not just the old one without nuts; it’s an entirely new recipe. In my opinion, it is nowhere near as good. I think the old ones were made by Pepperidge Farm.

  10. shana says:

Tried the mini sundae! It was insanely good and only 4 weight watcher points!

  11. Katie says:

I mean you guys talk about “New recipe” brownie…but the last nutty ones were just sent in to the store frozen as big pre-cut slabs of brownie from Pepperidge Farm….these brownies and cookies are up-sold grocery fare

  12. Sean says:

the cookie by itself has 14 grams of fat, but when you add the soft serve it only has 13….

  13. Marie says:

I tried the mini sundae and was not impressed. The chocolate sauce tasted like hershey’s out of a bottle and was so tiny I finished it in two bites. I won’t be buying this again – even McDonald’s hot fudge sundae is way better, more ice cream, and for the same price!

  14. Angela says:

I agree with everyone who dislikes the new brownie. It tastes fake and no better than a convenience store bought brand. I loved the old brownie. I actually took 2 bites of the new one and threw the rest away. DISAPPOINTED!!!!

  15. Nikki says:

I had the new cookies at a CFA conference. They are absolutely delicious and addicting. But the calories…yikes!

  16. Fran says:

I tried the new brownie today and thought it was pretty bad. It didn’t even seem to be baked–just more like gooey, barely solidified batter, and it was more sugary than chocolatey. I ate a third then threw it away. It really wasn’t worth the calories.

  17. Heather says:

Does anyone know how many Weight Watcher Points Plus the Chocolate Chunk cookie is?

  18. Lain says:

The cookie is 9 weights watchers points plus!!!
