Oh come on, really? They couldn’t think of something a LITTLE more creative than that? What a shame.

What’s with the trend of “new” menu items combining a bunch old ingredients? Subs have endless possibilities and this is what they come up with?

OMG! I’d never have thought to add spinach to my sandwich on my own! :eye roll:

NEWS FLASH GUYS… What was once known as a 5$ footlong will be up-charged to 5.25. Even the classics like the cold cut trio, meat ball, and tuna.

This came direct from local subway management.

Perhaps locally, but I haven’t heard anything on the national front.

    • TJ says:

So there’s going to be a 5% increase? Doesn’t seem that crazy. Our local Little Caesar’s has been selling their old $5 dollar pizzas for $5.55 for a while now. It’s still a decent deal in my opinion though.

I agree that this sub is lame, just like that tuna with jalapenos thing they did a couple months ago.

That ovenroasted chicken Subway always touts is just flat out weird. Chicken is fairly cheap so how hard would it be to have actual strips of white breast meat?

  6. Anne Sutton says:

I’ve been adding spinach to my sandwiches for years….as long as the local Subway has it in stock. It’s a freebie so what is special about this???

    • Mehu says:

they technically loose money when anyone asks for spinach. our location cannot add it to food costs unless it is the spinach salad which is all corporate adds it for. every time someone orders it on a sandwich the store has to write it in as food loss. All the other veggies are counted for sandwiches but not spinach. LOL the manager hates when people order it and tells the employees to put it on the sandwich 2 leaves at a time.

  7. rondoman says:

Yeah, that chicken breast patty aint nothin more than a bigger chicken nugget.

Its all pressed and formed and disgusting.

Just imagine how could it would be with actual chicken breast.

I’m going to order the Oven Roasted Chicken With Spinach, except without the Spinach, and with Italian cold cuts instead of the chicken.

I’m still waiting on my creation…. Meatball sweet n spicy….meatball with a dash of sweet baby rays Bbq sauce… tomatoes….and jalapenoa

It’s already hard enough to keep the spinach in stock. I’ve done Subway seven times in the last 4 weeks thanks to a promotion with out local Little League where the player gets a 6″ sub whenever he comes in on game day in uniform. Out of those 7 times, the store was out of spinach for three of them. Great batting average if you’re playing baseball, not so much if you’re a restaurant.

The oven roasted is nothing to brag about, though I’ve had it a few times simply thanks to the $5 price tag. The chicken used in the Chicken & Bacon Ranch and Sweet Onion Teriyake looks and tastes much better.

Still, oven roasted >>>> oven crisp, or whatever they called that mess

Went to Subway for lunch today, got this sandwich. I have been eating it since it has became a $5 dollar footlong adding Sweet Onion sauce for a cheaper Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki. I like the spinach better than the shredded lettuce, but more or less I wanted to hit on the price. It appears there are very few $5 dollar footlongs now, maybe four, and there are some that are bumped up to $6 now and I believe a few that were at $5.25. This is at a Subway in Nebraska.

  14. George says:

This is the sandwich I get at Subway every time anyways. I’m glad that all of my local Subway’s will make this with the strips of chicken though, because they taste much better than the formed breasts. If I really wanted to get crafty, I’d ask them to add strips of bacon, and voila the chicken bacon and ranch is created for $1 cheaper.

Next month…. Veggie Delight with Veggies!
