If You’re Seeing This, The Power Is Out

Reporting from Maryland, we are without power.  I scheduled this on Sunday morning just in case.  Discussion time… name 3 essential grub items you’d choose to wait out a few days without power.  I know the picture of fajitas has nothing to do with this.  I just really like fajitas.

    Premature postulation?

    Hang in there! Be safe!

    My go to:
    Vanilla Coke Zero
    Beef jerky

    LOL at Fajitas.

    Be safe

  5. Sam says:

That would have to be two giant slices of Dominick’s pepperoni pizza, three Jimmy John’s subs and a couple bags of chips,

  6. Jay Melo says:

Hope your power is back soon and all is well. My fave no power meal is pasta with canned or jarred sauce. Rice and bean burritos is also great. There is always Ramen and box mac & cheese if you are desperate. My brother says he can live on PB&J for 3 days, no biggie.

  7. CulinaryZerg says:

Most well planned topic ever. Hope the canned goods are tastin’ good.

  8. Noodlez says:

    vienna sausages

I could go for something in BBQ sauce.

  10. Matt says:

Gummi bears, flamin’ hot Cheetos, Hostess orange cupcakes

I third the beef jerky, They sell huge bags of it pretty cheap at Walmart. Ten pounds of jerky and you are set for a week.

After going through 3 hurricanes down here in Florida, gotta say that we really liked having Zatarains sides around – cooked them on the grill.

  13. Jon H. says:

Beef jerky, honey wheat pretzels, and Diet Mountain Dew.

  14. Mike N. says:

I always have some Underwood deviled ham and/or chicken on hand; it’s great on saltines.

  15. Raiders757 says:

    Beer, ice, and Halloween candy.

  16. PeterM says:

Good luck! I hope you get power back soon!

Anyway, on to the topic at hand:

Jerky of many flavors. Dog food for the, you know, dogs. Coleman gas, stove, and a few 5 gallon bottles of water. Candles. Batteries. Canned soup – it is usually not as horrible cold as you might imagine. Beefaroni. Instant Coffee (you can probably barter that if it goes on for more than a week – for that matter, smokes might become the currency of the local realm). Cheetos. Canned Tuna. Tang. An ample supply of vodka. Olives to go with said vodka.

  17. Griffin says:

Vodka and a charcoal grill for Bbq Chicken.

  18. MP says:

I’m assuming the gas stove would be out too, but here’s mine:
    Doritos nacho chips
    Dr Pepper
    cheese crackers

  19. jenne says:

beef jerky, dehydrated veggie chips, bottled water… gotta stay somewhat nutritioned. if that wasn’t an issue, canned pasta, sparkling cider, and chocolate.

  20. Heidi says:

Hope things are back to 100% for you soon!

I guess I’d NEED water and some nutritional sustenance, but I’d really just WANT popcorn, chocolate in some form & a good bottle of wine.
