Last time my pan looked like that, I was drunk and pan frying frozen taquitos in a whole stick of butter. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

What is the difference between a Lumpia, an Egg Roll, and a Spring Roll?

    • Bubbsy says:

Mostly the only difference is the wrapper, any of the rolls will be found with combinations of pork/chicken/shrimp and/or cabbage/carrots/lettuce/sprouts, etc.

Lumpia = Filipino, wrapper is thin and made of rice paper. Often filled with meat.

Spring roll = Chinese, wrapper is thin flour, crackly almost transluscent. Often vegetarian.

Egg roll = American-Chinese, wrapper is thicker and made of flour & egg, almost like fried flour tortilla. Often with meat & vegetables.
