Oatmeal Going Nationwide at Chick-fil-A?

Mark your calendar. We have it from reliable sources that Chick-fil-A is planning to take its Oatmeal from the test market to the national stage next Monday (July 25).

Our newest breakfast product is available one week from today! Warm & wholesome, our multigrain, steel-cut oatmeal is first slow-cooked in kettles the old-fashioned way. Anything but dry and instant, our hearty oatmeal has flax, whole wheat and buckwheat. Tasty toppings include cinnamon brown sugar, roasted mixed nuts (almonds, pecans, walnuts), and dried fruit blend (cranberries, blueberries, golden raisins, cherries)

No word yet on price or nutrition (you can see a past GrubGrade post on the testing phase here) but the launch follows a trend by fast food restaurants nationwide to offer healthier breakfasts. Stay tuned for more information and a future review!  McDonald’s has had success with their Fruit & Maple Oatmeal so why not Chick-fil-A?

Chicken biscuit or oatmeal for breakfast.

The decision is easy. (and fattening)

I would go for the chicken biscuit too, it takes me less than 2 minutes to make my own oatmeal.

These are steel cut oats, however, which take a good 30 minutes to prepare fresh (though you can buy vacuum sealed packs of it and just reheat it in the microwave). Even quick cook oats take a good 5+ minutes. Guessing you’re talking about instant oatmeal, which doesn’t compare at all to more ‘traditional’ oatmeal.
