The “Cinnamon Swirl Muffin” is calling my name. Sadly the Dunkin’ Donuts nearest me, closed a while back, so I’ll have to suffer Dunkin’ Disappointment. It’s crazy. The place always seemed to have a steady flow of business, and had been there for decades. They even had regulars, and the recent owners were very customer friendly. They had been running the place for years.

Without warning, they closed. For many of us, it made no sense, and still doesn’t. The nearest DD isn’t far. About two miles, give or take. Thing is, it’s still open, and always looks empty.

It’s been there a good twenty years and has never looked like it has done very well. Obviously it has, or it wouldn’t still be “makin’ the doughnuts”, but when looking at the one that was once nearest me, it just doesn’t make any sense. I’m still scratching my head over it. (Then again, we had a Krispy Kreme that closed down because it couldn’t keep up with the flow of business it attracted. It’s now a Taco Bell. Sounds crazy, but the KK got an article in the paper explaining it’s closing. To this day, I’ve never heard of anything else like it.)

A long time ago they used to sell chocolate honey dipped sticks that were really good. Think chocolate honey glazed donut that they still sell and multiply its tastiness by 100 – that sums up the discontinued donut stick.

cinnamon “swirl” muffin is a misnomer. It’s got dots of gooey cinnamon “swirl” scattered throughout the muffin (and they didnt warm it either). It was ok.

Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed the gingerbread muffins last year. I don’t know where I will get my gingerbread fix this year.
