The soup is AMAZING. It’s basically pot pie in a soup bowl, and who doesn’t love that?!

  2. Matt says:

Going to try that sandwich ASAP, minus the red peppers. The Steak & White Cheddar was a disappointment to me (have since been able to modify it to the way I like it). Soup sounds great too!

  3. Alison says:

I had the soup today and wasn’t terribly fond of it. The chicken tastes good, but the thing is a salt lick… it’s been over 2 hours and I can still taste it.

I didn’t think it was terribly different from their cream of chicken soup and while the biscuit was interesting, it didn’t add too much.

I have yet to try Panera, despite one being less than two miles up the road. It’s been there for a few years, but as I’ve said on this site before, I just can’t get past Moe’s on the way to the place. I hear they’re pretty good though.

  5. Sara says:

I had the stew today and I was not impressed. Mine was not salty and I actually had to add salt to mine. I won’t be ordering it again.

According to Panera’s nutritional website, a serving of soup has 2,030 mg of sodium. I believe the recommended daily allowance is around 2,300 mg. I’m not entirely sure if this information is based on their “cup” or “bowl.”

I hadn’t been asked if I wanted a cup or bowl in the past when simply ordering soup – I thought there was only one available size. I froze and said bowl – big mistake. I ate less than half of the bowl and still felt ill.

  6. Nick says:

Guessing the combined price for these two with chips and a soda is $11.99?

  7. Manavee says:

Im not sure if it was a test item or not (since I don’t see it on their website) but my local Panera had a Turkey and cranberry panini that was listed as new. It was alright, but very sweet (the cranberry sauce dominated). I prefered Cosi’s version (which has turkey and cranberry sauce, but also stuffing which I loved).

All I know is, their breakfast sandwiches at my Panera are very chintzy with the fillings… very flat, rather tasteless… and expensive for what you get.. I’ve been reluctant to try any of the other sandwiches because of this.

  9. Brock says:

I thought the soup was great!

  10. jen j says:

the soup tasted ODD and sweet…and they screwed me out of my biscuit..so “thumbs down”

  11. Panera Bread says:

  13. Jaycox says:

I loved the soup when I tried it last week.
But the calories, now that I know them, will keep me away in the future.

Love the stew. Very comforting. Will miss it when it’s gone. I seem to order it every time I go. I’m addicted.

  15. Laura says:

The Steak Balsamico panini is amazing!! I’ve gotten it the last 3 times I’ve gone to Panera. I hope they leave it on the menu permanently. It’s the main reason I’ve become a regular.

  16. Michael says:

I love this soup to death. I can’t find the recipe for this soup anywhere! I would love to make this for myself!

  17. I am addicted to the Sonoma Chicken Stew w/the Dry Jack Biscquit!!! Can’t get enough! Would love to have the recipe!!!
