Observations: Making A Sandwich…What Do You Turn To When You’re Out Of Bread?

Who hasn’t faced this dilemma?  You go to make a sandwich and it turns out you’re out of bread.  Do you make something else or do you become resourceful? Check out this creation from Back to the Nest.  Reminds me of the Dunkin Donuts Breakfast Sandwich.

I have thought about making a sandwich between two poptarts. Just not sure what meat I would use.

Lettuce leaves. Turkey and tomato wrapped in a big ol’ piece of lettuece – yum!

I can dig the Eggo idea, but veggie burgers? No way!

Rice! Except for spreads.. I don’t really /like/ spreads on rice.

  5. In the words of Dr. Nick from The Simpsons: “Instead of using bread, use Pop-Tarts!”

Call me crazy but that waffle sandwich looks good to me. I’m sure the you could work the waffle crevices to your advantage with some sandwich spread. 🙂

There is a place here in Indy that serves a burger on English Muffins. Pretty good actually.

You should Double Down your burger and have it between two chicken breasts. Add bacon…of course.

I’d use (and have used) either bagels or English muffins if I run out of bread. I’ve also successfully used Wasa crispbread, provided I’m careful with anything I spread on it. In my estimation, waffles would be too sweet for any savory fillings.

    This is pretty genius!

  11. the waffle idea does have some potential, I think most unusual i have ever used was either an imitation-store brand- krispy creme cut in half or a bagel.

Different flavors of rice cakes, crumpets, or cinnamon raisin english muffins. 🙂 Pre made frozen pancakes work well too!
