I tried these the other day. They tasted pretty good, but they are not particularly spicy.

It seems to me that people either like spice or they don’t….so when a chain introduces something “spicy” they really should make an effort to make it spicy rather than toning it down for the masses. After all, if you don’t like spice, you’re probably not going to order something that has “spicy” as part of it’s name.

For those of you in the midwest, I tried Culver’s Spicy Chipotle Cheese Curds the other day and they actually were pretty darn hot…one of the few examples of a franchised restaurant delivering on their promise for “spicy.”

Bold Buffalo was for people who can’t handle real heat. I suspect “Spicy Chipotle” will be too, all mass market “spicy” products are. Typically they’ll call a product whose only chile is jalapeños (pickled for extra mildness) “hot”. Lame! How about some serrano, chile de arbol, bird’s eye, or habañero peppers? And I don’t mean as the 15th ingredient.

  4. Boneless chicken wings = chicken nuggets. However, the sauce could be good… it is just not what I got to Wendy’s for and they are to much $$$ for an add on.

I feel it’s time to put this chipotle trend to pasture. It’s played out already. I love spicy flavors and I enjoy chipotle peppers, still, enough already. It’s not all THAT great. I can think of a lot more tasty ways to get a spicy heat from something.

I’m with WIBIA. I go to Wendy’s to either get a greasy classic burger, or a spicy chicken sandwich. Oh, and fries with a frosty to dip them in. Everyone seems to charge way too much for boneless wings these days. Hell, they charge too much for bone in wings anymore as well. Even the uncooked ones at the grocery store. (I miss NFL Sunday at my local pub. 25 cent wings, and that was for the entire wing, not half of it, like everyone does these days. Go Raiders!!)

I had these the other day and they were horrible. BRING BACK THE BUFFALO!!!!

  7. Kevin says:

those boneless “wings” totally ruined wendy’s reputation.
