Food News: Mini Blizzard from Dairy Queen

I like how some sit-down restaurants offer up tiny desserts.  I’m usually too stuffed to even consider a dessert at the end of my meal so a little taste for less than 3 bucks will usually win me over.  Sometimes we just need a taste of something sweet and we don’t require it to stuff us to the gills.  It’s nice to see Dairy Queen coming out with a new sized “Mini Blizzard”.  It’s half the size of the current small Blizzard.  So look out for a  6oz Blizzard coming to your local DQ sometime this August.  Prices to be between $1.99-$2.49.

I think 1.99-2.49’s a bit much for something half the size of the small, BUT, i love the idea of the mini blizzard. Plus it’s so cute!

I get the feeling it’ll be even smaller than the impression the promotional picture gives off. I’ll hit the streets in August to investigate!

They’ve actually had a “mini” size in some of the Southern IL locations for a while…though that might have been what most call a small, and the large was an extra large. I’m curious to find out.

If it’s $2.49 or even 1.99, that’s a rip. The small Blizzard in NE Ohio’s already something like $2.79.

Can’t wait to see the calorie count on these! Yay maybe I can actually go to dq without blowing my diet!

  6. Crusader says:

Sorry but even this Mini-Blizzard is like a HUGE bucket of ice cream. No, you can’t have any until you finish your boiled carrots.

Great idea! Like Shana said, maybe these will work with my diet!

  8. It’s still unhealthy but it makes me FEEL like it’s healthy…so I want this ASAP

Yummy… eating one right now and it’s the perfect size! Calorie count still comes in a little high (Oreo Brownie Earthquake… what can I expect?), but the banana split mini has under 300 calories. I just wish that, since these are half the size of the small, they could be half the PRICE of the small as well. Instead, they’re just 50 cents cheaper. Oh, well… Glad to see a small size item in a supersized culture! 🙂

this mini blizzard is PERFECT! its the perfect size for people who are full, want a tiny snack or just cant eat a small! im getting one, my first one, yay! and i’ve seen it on display (the actual cup, not just a photo) on the Dq counter :). It’s about the size of one of those half-size cans of sodas, the tiny ones.
    I love you blizzard!
