Food News: Dunkin’ Donuts Egg White Flatbreads New Look

Before I get into the flatbreads, just let me say that Dunkin’ Donuts has an excellent breakfast value menu.  I’m not sure how it is in your neck of the woods, but in my town, it’s great (and available all day).  OK now on to the breakfast flatbreads… I know there are haters, but I actually kinda like the Dunkin’ Donuts Egg White Flatbreads.  My biggest complaint was always the egg white to flatbread ratio.  The folded flatbread was always too dry and dominated the usually lacking egg.  Looks like there’s been a fix to the too-much-flatbread issue.  How new is this?  How late to the party am I?  It’s new to me so maybe it’s new to you.  A new round shape, take a look:

Some details for you:

  • Veggie Egg White Flatbread – Enjoy the fluffy egg whites, peppers, onions, mushrooms and melted reduced–fat cheddar cheese served on a delicious multigrain flatbread. 330 calories, 12g of fat
  • Turkey Sausage Egg White Flatbread – Treat your taste buds to fluffy egg whites, turkey sausage, spinach and melted reduced–fat cheddar cheese on a delicious multigrain flatbread. 290 calories, 8g of fat

I’m going to give this new flatbread a try in the morning.  Here’s a look at the original if you’re unfamiliar:

In my town, we only have a mini Dunkin’ Donuts in a couple of Wilco gas stations, and they don’t serve breakfast. I would love to try it when I’m on the road one day, and this is probably what I’d order – the one with the turkey sausage. I like the look of the new round one much better!

I wonder how the sausage one ends up with more fat and calories than the veggie version.

    • Ann says:

Actually, the veggie has more fat and calories than the turkey sausage, which is extremely odd. Also, I am not happy with the new ones because they used to have less fat, about 6 grams. Now the fat has doubled? What the heck Dunkin Donuts!?

Well said Ryan. The ‘bread’ part of the flatbread really is the weakest element of the sandwich. Dunkin actually offers egg whites for all their breakfast sandwiches though. But honestly, making your own breakfast sandwich is so simple it’s tough for me to buy one there. I’ll stick to the black coffee and donut!

If the flatbread looks anything like in the picture (how often do they look the same though?)then its perfect . I agree that there has always been too much flatbread. I can’t wait to try one!

I couldn’t get too into the flatbread sandwiches because they were a pain to eat while driving. this new version looks a bit more promising.

I don’t think they are made with real eggs. It was nasty. I tried it twice and was sick for 2 days afterwards both times. save your money.

    • Ellie says:

The three times I have tried it I felt sick in the next hour and on this last time I puked. It was horrible.

I just had one of these and it was AMAZING!! It had just the right amount of egg whites, turkey sausage, cheese, and flatbread. It was really easy to eat as well, and filled me up.
