Grub Battle Royal Central Region Results

Well with no lack of controversy…here are the winners as nominated and voted on by you for the Central region. This was extremely (and I mean extremely) close and in one case decided by a single vote.

It looks like Chicago is pulling a lot of weight for the Central division. Also, Blue Bell has won again in the Dessert/Candy category!

Burger Joint: Whataburger
Pizza Parlor: Giordano’s
Mexican Food: Taco Cabana
Dessert/Candy: Blue Bell Ice Cream
Grocery Store: Meijer
Soda/Drink: Dublin Dr. Pepper
Chip/Snack: Zapp’s Chips
Sub/Sandwich Shop: Mr. Submarine
Wildcard: Portillo’s Hot Dogs

Tomorrow we’ll open up voting for the hot bed of deliciousness that is the West. Be sure to cast your vote and try to persuade others into voting along with you.

I must say, no matter what different combinations of flavors they can come up with, this is still my all-time favorite:

The Dublin Dr. Pepper fascinates me. I LOVE soft drinks with pure cane sugar, and Dr. Pepper is my FAVORITE soft drink! I didn’t know it was available like this! I may have to buy some from the online store!

I like Blue Bell but I hate their radio commercials, are they targeting 90 year olds with them or what?

“Blue Bell tastes like the good old days”

@Rob: Aren’t the 90 year olds the only ones still listening to the radio? 😉

Well, I live in AR so I should have taken more interest in the “South” voting, but I grew up in IL and just have to say – HOOORAY FOR PORTILLOS! Freakin awesome italian beef.. not to mention cheese fries. Mmmmmmmm…

I’m not a big soft drink person anymore, unless it has booze in it. Still, I am with Jessica about Dublin Dr. Pepper. It saddens me that I can’t buy it where I live. That stuff blows the HFCS corporate version off the map.

I guess I’m lucky I can still get Cheerwine, but sadly they’ve gone the HFCS route as well. It’s just not the same anymore.
