Not familiar with Wawa?  Here’s a little history lesson courtesy of Wikipedia:

Wawa is a chain of convenience store/gas stations located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. It is often associated with the Philadelphia area and the Delaware Valley, but the stores are common throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Wawa sells over 195 million cups of coffee a year.  The Wawa deli counter was among the first convenience stores to implement self-serve computer touch-screen menus for food orders, in an attempt to improve accuracy. It can potentially be used as gateways to up-selling, as well. Wawa is headquartered in Wawa, Pennsylvania, a neighborhood that includes parts of Middletown Township and Chester Heights Borough in Delaware County. Wawa offers products found at most convenience chain marts such as chips, drinks, soda. Wawa also make their own branded water, which can be found at any Wawa. Key products include its variety of coffee and cappuccino flavors and sizes, and its made-to-order hoagies. Wawa also offers a brand of hot breakfast products, most famous of which is the “Sizzli”. Wawa sells a variety of brand-name cold beverages and offers similar alternatives such as the Red Bull alternative, “Mach W”.

  1. DUDE! That rocks! I am so so so jealous….not even really that you have Wawa and I don’t and not even that you get to enjoy the Hoagiefest and I don’t but just those jingles alone have got me crying a little tear that I don’t get to be apart of something so cheery. You Mid-Easterners get the best of everything…..at least we’ve got In-N-Out and It’s-It…that’s like my only recourse and I sound like a broken record everytime I mention it…but it’s all I got on you. No Ute’s or Five Guys or Shake Shack or Sonics or Chick-Fil-A or Checkers or or or

Haha… grass is always greener on the other side. Take the new rental car for an 80mile trek up north to the Fairfield Chick-fil-A 🙂 . Oh by the way, congrats Bear for hitting the 2,000th comment on GrubGrade. Actually you had comment #1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. 😀

  3. Wow Wawa! I miss Wawa! There aren’t any in York, PA. there were a lot where I lived in Baltimore. But that is what we had to give up to get a cheaper place to live 😛 Hubby still works in MD so he might have a Wawa near his work.

  6. @Ryan – HAHA, yes! I guess the early bird really does get the worm 🙂 Although I probably have 20% of the comments anyways.
