Food News: New Philly Cheesesteak Burger from Checkers

Who likes their meat with a side of meat?  Bacon on a burger is OK with me, but how about some steak?  Checkers has a Philly Cheesesteak Burger now available but only for a limited time (2 for $4.00 or a Combo for $4.00).  Oh and about the bacon on a burger comment…there is also a version with bacon…The Bacon Philly Cheesesteak Burger.

Offered for a limited time, this new twist on a classic favorite expertly pairs out hand-seasoned and seared, all-beef burger patty with authentic, juicy shaved Philly Steak, warm melty Swiss cheese and seasoned grilled onions for a flavor combination that’s out of this world.  To top it all off, this burger’s served on warm, toasty sourdough bread.

“new twist”? I thought Hardee’s already did one of these. I do like Rally’s/Checkers, though.

Did I read that correctly? “Swiss cheese”? That sounds gross to me with steak and a burger near by. It’s American cheese or provalone or Cheeze Whiz for me.

It is actually pretty good Steve [with the swiss or provolone] that is how we eat them [never been to Philly – the horror!] you should try it if you like those cheese.

But we do know they are true cheese steaks.

Are these at Rally’s, too, I wonder? Or are the two just slightly inconsistent enough about this sort of thing to be annoying (like Hardee’s and its variant(s))?

What exactly cut of meat is “Philly Steak”
The REAL DEAL is either RIB EYE OR SIRLOIN, NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS. SOOO,
Now, what exaxtly cut of meat is checker’s serving? I seriously do not believe either aforereferenced cuts are economically cost effective when the ssub- sandwich is placed at $2.00. Huuuummmmm…
