Food News: Carl Jr’s Jumbo Chili Dog Returns

Recently, Kentucky Bourbon Burgers were introduced at Carl’s Jr. as a nice, new taste to their burger line.  Burgers always seem to get the most respect in the world of fast food.  Burgers, fries and chicken nuggets are all staples of the major fast food chains.  Often forgotten in this realm is the hot dog.  Carl’s Jr. now has added the option of hot dogs to their menu with the Jumbo Chili Dog.  This dog is a reintroduction for Carl’s Jr.  Chili dogs were on the original menu back in 1941 and stayed there for over 50 years.  The founder of Carl’s Jr., Carl Karcher, got his start as a successful hot dog cart in Los Angeles.  Back then you could grab a dog for 20 cents, now they will run you $3 for 2.  This jumbo dog comes topped with mustard, beef chili and fresh raw onion.

With spring and summer fast approaching, its becoming hot dog season.  Now you don’t have to wait for that backyard BBQ or ballgame to get a chili dog.  Hot dogs are definitely an underappreciated food in fast food circles and maybe this one can help change that.  Available for a limited time at participating locations.

  1. I have never been a fan of chili added to anything (fries, burger, dog….pizza?) and I don’t know if I’ve ever tried a chili dog. I do however LOVE Carl’s Jr and imagine that theirs will be top notch if you’re into that sort of thing.
