Food News: Boston Market Does Fish?

Another limited time offering for Lent.  This time it’s Boston Market and it’s only available on Fridays leading up to Easter.  While known for menu items such as rotisserie chicken and “just like home” side dishes, Friday will serve up Baked Whitefish at Boston Market.  It’s hard to find a place not catering to special Friday needs these days.  That’s a good thing.  Only a few more Fridays left until Easter.

  1. Ehhhh….not sure how I feel about this….not sure how I feel about Boston Market in general. I haven’t been much. They were good as I remember but they seem a little more unhealthy than they let on to. Do you happen to know the nutritional facts for this fish meal?

  2. Ryan says:

    Hey Bear.
According to the Baked Whitefish nutrition goes like this:

470 calories, 28g of fat, 15g sat fat, 0g trans fat, 190mg cholesterol, 690mg sodium, 21g carbs, 34g of protein.

  3. Ryan says:

By the way, Boston Market’s nutrition info has a section where it maps out 14 complete meals for under 550 calories.
It’s all about choices though, you can easily make the choice of a Sirloin Dip Carver full sandwich (amazing by the way), mac and cheese and cornbread and suffer the wrath of 1400 calories, 62.5g of fat and 131g of carbs.

  4. Very true I know….and I’m a a super healthy eater myself but sometimes people are misled a little….in this case by the “home cooked” angle. They tend not to worry about health so much.

  5. Ryan says:

Yeah definitely. Kind of like how people might think a taco salad is health food because because of the word “salad”. Haha.

  6. Something seems wrong here. That picture doesn’t do anything for me. Indy used to have 5-6 Boston Markets, I think that we are down to one. Good post, but this doesn’t sound good at all!
