Food News: Big Mac Snack Wrap
Remember back in March we reported that Canada had a Big Mac Snack Wrap? Well it’s been making the rounds in certain test markets in the United States too. Houston, Texas was testing it back in January and the New York metro area got their hands on it this passed July. Now Milwaukee, Wisconsin will get the chance. Looks like a wide release is imminent. I’d say 2010 sometime but that’s just a wild guess. Until then, just grab yourself a tortilla and dissect a Big Mac sandwich and knock yourself out.
I like Big Macs, but that doesn’t look good to me at all for some reason! Anyone tried one yet?
Aw HELL NO.
New Product:
Big Mac Attack! (2 Beef Patties used as buns!)
I like DHL’s idea. The two beef patties should sandwich the middle bun.
No improving on a classic, sorry…that looks narfy.
I agree, why ruin a good thing???
I have no idea why, but the idea of a patty in a burrito is just unappealing. Ground beef is perfectly fine, but somehow beef patties don’t work for me.
That looks NASTY.
I had it a few months back (I live in the NYC metro area) – not bad but it’d be better if it were priced at $0.99. I’d rather get the McDouble for $1.69 instead of the Mac wrap for $1.49.
Holy cow, McDoubles are $1.69 in NYC? Here in Minnesota, they are a buck. I know prices tend to be higher in NYC, but 70% more seems like a bit much.
Also, there’s only half a patty in each one? That really doesn’t seem worth the price… not much meat.
Bad idea. Does anyone remember the “Morning Mac?” It was a promo for a while in the midwest. Don’t quote me, but I think that it had an extra sausage patty on both sides of the egg and an extra slice of cheese.
I dunno, I’ve had a few of these, and personally I prefer them to any of the chicken snack wraps. It’s pretty much like eating a Big Mac in snack form. I don’t see the downside.
In NJ they have been around all summer. Tried it a few times, something just not right about eating a burger in a tortilla. Not worth the price.
Reminds me of the cheeseburger subs you can get at most of the pizza/sub joints near me. But even those make just slightly more sense since the sub roll is similar in consistency to a burger bun. Tortillas and beef patties just don’t seem like a natch fit.
Somebody was literally sitting around at McD headquarters and was like “Oh hey we’ve been doing these snack wrap things with chicken tenders, could we try it with those hamburger patties we use?”
“JOHNSON YOU JUST GOT PROMOTED!”
ChrisSH: The fast food prices are brutal here. I think the only stuff that’s still a buck on the Dollar Menu is the 4-pc Chicken McNuggets, McChicken, reg. cheeseburger and the kids’ size fries and drink.
The only fast food restaurant around here that doesn’t jack up their prices is Taco Bell.
That stinks about the prices up there, AK. I remember visiting NYC with the high school band when I was 16, and we were all freaking out over how much more expensive the McDonald’s food was compared to here in Indiana. I gotta say, I really appreciate the dollar menu here! I can grab a couple of McChickens or McDoubles if I’m in a hurry, and fill up for cheap 🙂 Healthy? No, but cheap LOL
