The average retail price of the Mint Oreo Blizzard is $3.09 for the 12 oz., $3.49 for the 16 oz. and $3.99 for the 21 oz. Many Blizzard flavors can be made into delicious cakes, perfect for celebrating special occasions such as St. Patrick’s Day, early spring picnics and birthdays.  The average price of a Blizzard cake is $21.49 for the eight-inch and $23.69 for the 12-inch.

It’s now February and that means a new Blizzard of the Month over at Dairy Queen.  This time it’s the Midnight Truffle Blizzard.  You might remember this Blizzard treat as being the featured Blizzard back in April 2009.  We have our impressions if you’re interested.  This Blizzard combines rich chocolate truffles and chunks of cocoa fudge with silky vanilla soft serve ice cream. 770 calories and 38 grams of fat for a small. Go ahead and skip lunch.

Welcome to 2010 GrubGrade readers!  It’s a new month and a new year so time for a new Blizzard of the Month at Dairy Queen.  This time it’s the Turtle Pecan Cluster Blizzard.  Pecan pieces blended with chocolate, rich caramel and creamy vanilla soft serve.  A small will cost you 700 calories and 34 grams of fat.

A couple weeks early but here’s a sneak peak at the Dairy Queen Blizzard of the Month for December 2009.  It’s the Candy Cane Chill, but you might remember it as the Yule Flip Peppermint Chip Blizzard. A new name, similar taste and it features candy cane pieces and rich chocolate chunks mixed with soft serve.  The average price of the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard is $3.09 for the 12 oz., $3.49 for the 16 oz. and $3.99 for the 21 oz.

If you didn’t get the opportunity to try the Tagalongs Peanut Butter Patty Blizzard from Dairy Queen in July, here is your second chance.  Dairy Queen is either running out of Blizzard ideas or the Tagalongs Blizzard was so popular in the Summer, that they decided to bring it back again.

Thursday, August 13th is Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen.   On this day, proceeds from blizzard sales will go toward a children’s hospital in your area. I know you have been looking for an excuse to try the new Thin Mint Blizzard.   So get out and kill two birds with one stone, get yourself a tasty treat and donate to a great cause.  DQ has raised $77 million for children in the last 15 years.

$1 or more per blizzard treat sold at participating Dairy Queen locations on Miracle Treat Day, August 13, 2009 will benefit your local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.

It’s officially August and just to remind you, the Dairy Queen Blizzard of the Month for August 2009 is the Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard.  This Blizzard is a mix of Thin Mint cookie pieces, soft serve ice cream and a Crème de Menthe topping.  Prices vary by location but you’re looking at around $2.85 for a small, $3.35 for a medium and $3.85 for the large.  *Nutrition-wise…a small will run you 540 calories, 18 grams of fat and 67 grams of sugar.  A large will cost you around 1080 calories, 38 grams of fat and 126 grams of sugar.
