First Impressions: New! Dunkin Donuts Frozen Hot Chocolate
I’ll be straight up with you: I find the concept of a frozen hot chocolate to be about as oxymoronic and nonsensical as a diet donut, but that didn’t stop my sister, and faithful GrubGrade reader Carol, from stopping by Dunkin’ to check it out on National Donut Day. Carol has chimed in with her review, and as a longtime Hot Chocolate snob (and ketchup packet abuser), I’ll take her word for it.
As a non-coffee drinker, I have limited options when it comes to finding a morning beverage. I’m not a huge fan of juice or milk so during the summer I’m pretty much stuck with just water. That was until Dunkin Donuts turned my favorite winter beverage into an ice cold summer drink. Their new Frozen Hot Chocolate is the perfect summer drink for all the non-coffee drinkers of the world. It’s like an icy version of a chocolate milkshake, so if you don’t love chocolate this is not your drink. You taste chocolate syrup throughout the whole drink. It’s topped off with whipped cream and is tasty from start to finish. It’s refreshing and delicious, especially for chocolate lovers like me who desire something cold to drink on a hot summer day. Dunkin Donuts succeeded with their creative take on a traditional drink. Good work, Dunkin Donuts!
