Burger King Introduces New Crispy Chicken Sandwich

A new and improved menu item is always welcome and the latest from Burger King is the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich.  The new Crispy Chicken Sandwich is made with a seasoned and breaded, 100% white meat chicken filet and topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo on a potato bun.  The suggested price is $4.39 and available at participating Burger King restaurants nationwide.BK New Crispy Chicken SandwichNutrition-wise, the new Crispy Chicken Sandwich will set you back 670 calories, 41 grams of fat, 7 grams of saturated fat, 1070 milligrams of sodium, 54 grams of carbs, 7 grams of sugar, and 23 grams of protein.

    Made WITH not OF . so the chicken is not 100% legit chicken.

      I always use to ponder that too. Some food ingredients say made with 100 percent something but is it?or is it not made of/and or made with all 100 percent said ingredient.

      Yes. Breading isn’t chicken. Lettuce, mayo, tomato and the bun aren’t chicken either.

      It’s easy to fake frankenchicken like Subway, but hard to fake a filet.

      The *sandwich* is made with a real chicken filet. That’s not the same as saying something like a nugget or patty made with real chicken (where real chicken is merely a component). A filet is a filet, as in, a cut of meat. If the ad had said “patty made with…. ” then you’d be right. But you’re wrong.

    Really hope this is quality bird – their “tendercrisp” used to be so good but I have not gotten one since I had one that was more like a McChicken (chopped/pressed/formed/yechhh).

    Just a few years ago, the Tendercrisp was one of the best chicken sandwiches. But McDonald’s Buttermilk Crispy sandwich took all the buzz (it’s not even very good) and as a result Arby’s and now BK have changed up their chicken even though there’s nothing actually bad about the prior product other than the brand got stale.

    In Arby’s case, their buttermilk crispy wasn’t as good as their old fillet. And I somehow doubt BK’s totally generic looking chicken sandwich bill be better than the Tendercrisp. But hey, whatever it takes to refresh the brand I guess.

    I usually hate on Burger King, but they have a new item and decently prices and looks good from the pictures. I will give it a try. Let’s hope it taste like a Wendy’s quality chicken sandwich or better.

    I just noticed that on pictures of all BK chicken sandwiches it shows green leafy lettuce instead of the flavorless and pale narrow-chopped shards of iceberg that they put on their sandwiches at my local BK… The website even pictures the cheapy chicken sandwich with lush leaves of green lettuce…

        No I get that ads will feature ingredients staged in the best possible aesthetic. But what we have here is different, it’s not like they merely placed the nicest bits of chopped iceberg to be prominent. They have leaves of green lettuce instead of chopped iceberg. It’s an uncommon approach.

    Does anyone know why BK’s mayo has like 4x the fat/calories of Wendy’s/McDonald’s mayo? It definitely tastes better, but I don’t understand how you can make mayo that much more unhealthy when it’s already mostly oil.

    This was ok, sure doesn’t look anything like the picture though. It also comes in a version with bacon and cheese. Overall, I remember the tendercrisp being bigger and better. The grilled model was absolutely horrendous, you could barely bite through it, and it was flavorless.

    There was also a “Texas hot dog” on the menu, it came with jalapenos and mustard, priced the same as the chili cheese dog ($2.29). I don’t remember seeing advertising for this.

    The one I had was seriously the size of a deck of cards. The filet, I mean. It would have been hilarious if it wasn’t like, $8 for the meal. Great job, BK.

    This new chicken sandwich is excellent. By far the best fast food chicken sandwich I’ve had in quite some time. I am not a fan of the buttermilk chicken offerings by McDonald’s and Arby’s. My favorite chicken sandwich of all time was the Crispy Chicken Deluxe McDonald’s had years and years ago.

      I was working there when that came out….it was between 1996-1998 I believe. it had a better bun too. Even the Fish was deluxe (bigger) back then. I wish they’d bring back the Arch Deluxe with circular bacon too. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald's_Deluxe_line)

        Why did they ever get rid of that wonderful round bacon?!? It was food perfection. Texture/flavor/size – all spot on. I used to fantasize about getting a job at McD so I could make a DCB with 3 bacon rounds….top, bottom, and one between the meats. Ohhh baby…..

    Finally got one, with bacon & cheese, no tomato. The chicken itself was very good, definitely a white breast meat filet. The rest of it had problems – the outside of the chicken was glistening, nearly dripping, with oil from the frying. Maybe set the thing on a couple paper towels after taking it out of the fryer?? The bun was yellow inside for some reason, and the texture was poor – like dried out, kinda gritty, like a GF bun. My wife is GF so I am familiar with the nastiness that is GF bread. I almost said the bun is too big, even though it looks small, but really the issue is the BIRD is too small. If I had not torn off chunks of bun, I would have had several bites of nuthin but bun – not OK when you’re talkin about a meal that costs almost 9 Bucks with just a drink and fries – not even large size. Like I said the chicken itself was good, but for the size it strikes me as 3 to 4 Dollars overpriced. Clearly they are trying to maximize profits here. OH and I forgot the best (worst) part – at first they gave me a total of $10.74! I said “How can $7.69 plus tax be over 10 Bucks?!!?” The manager came over to the register and started hitting a bunch of buttons saying “I don’t understand why but it’s been doing this to us with these new sandwiches…” So made me wonder how many people have been overcharged and never noticed. Hard to say what went wrong since I got no receipt…..

    Finally tried one. Underwhelming. Tendercrisp is/was better. It was overall a little greasy and small for the price. Flavor was fine, just a standard chicken sandwich.
