Discussion: Super Bowl Snacking

How do you snack during the Super Bowl?  I recently received some snacking treasure from the CVS Gold Emblem line of snacks and it got me thinking of talking game day snacks.  Any sort of nut mix usually becomes my snacking addiction.  Spicy Nacho Doritos, Heluva Good French Onion Dip, chocolate covered anything… what’s your snack round-up look like today?CVS Gold Emblem Snacks

I’m making a super tasty sausage and tater soup in two crock pots. I’m making crack cheese dip(aka Queso Blanco, aka the killer white cheese served in Mexican American restaurants in the South East.)as well. Also making a veggie tray, and fried won-tons to munch on.

Ravens fan for a day!!!!! Go Ravens!

Unfortunately it’s putting down some snow so I can’t go buy any chips or anything like that )we have none).

Hoever, I’ve got a sausage and pepperoni digiorno in the freezer, gonna throw some mushrooms on it and go for it.

Guacamole and bird poop (Oreos smashed together with cream cheese, frozen into balls and dipped in white almond bark).

Homemade Bleu Cheese Dip. Equal parts mayonnaise and sour cream with a little onion, garlic, lemon juice, and of course bleu cheese crumbles. Great for the big game because it works well with your wings and/or your chips. Or with my personal favorite, Bugles.

This is the one time a year that I buy L’il Smokies. I’m actually trying the turkey version this year, so we’ll see how that goes. I figure it’s all about the BBQ sauce and the spices of the sausage, so we probably won’t miss the 60%-less-fat.

Gotta go with the standard buffalo wing (made with Crystal for a nod to New Orleans).

Irish nachos made with homemade baked potato chips, beer chili and a homemade spicy cheese sauce. Seven layer taco dip with tortillas. Homemade garlic pretzel bites with a beer cheese sauce for dipping. And of course the obligatatory veggies and dip!

    Making the following:

Celery stuffed with herbed goat cheese

Cajun fried chicken wings (no drummies sections..just middle wing sections!)

Blue cheese chopped salad to go with the wings

Bean dip with fresh onions and tomatoes on top with various chips

And I planned for some mini subs in case I needed more food.

Got 10 Guinness in the fridge and ready to get rolling around 5.

Go..er…great game. Got no dog in this hunt but this will probably be the most watched SB in history. I can’t remember a SB I have been looking forward to like this one since my Skins stopped being a regular.
