Handcrafted Tenders from Popeyes and 3 New Dipping Sauces

Starting on Monday, August 27th, Popeyes will re-launch its best kept secret –  Handcrafted Tenders.  Hmmm, 6 dipping sauces I see.  $3.99 gets you a 3-piece combo box with Cajun fries, a buttermilk biscuit and one dipping sauce.

At Popeyes we are dedicated to providing delicious, premium, and freshly prepared products for you.  By doing so, we promise that you will experience the best tenders in the business. What makes our tenders so special, earning them the name “Handcrafted” you ask?

Our new Handcrafted Tenders are:

  • 100% Breast Meat (never formed, never pressed)
  • Marinated in Louisiana seasonings
  • Hand battered and breaded
  • Cooked up fresh in our kitchens

Those look like Publix tenders which are the best tenders on the planet IMHO

I just want spicy strips back! Only place to get them are Popeyes ownned-operated by HMSHost. So rest stops and Arundel Mills in MD…

We have the spicy strips at every Popeye’s in the region(Tidewater, Virginia). At least everyone I’ve frequented, that is.

I might just be a dumbass, but how are these different from their normal tenders…

I had these today. No different than what they have been serving (at least by me) for as long as I can remember.

I see in Ryan’s original comments, he mentions a “re-launch”, so I don’t think there is really anything new here, just promoting them along with new sauces (which they have had the same 6 at my location for a few months now as well). Or perhaps they didn’t have these at all locations but now do?

You can get these (again at my location) spicy or mild (always were able to).

I decided to try the Bayou Buffalo sauce which I really liked. It wouldn’t say the sauce is real hot (not a fan of real hot) but did have a nice kick to it and completed the spicy seasoning pretty well.

They also offer this in a 5 piece which I believe was 7.99 (as a combo with side, biscuit and drink).

Heh at least it’s not a return to the Freddy Krueger chicken – those were a little scary

At my local Popeye’s there’s no difference except the price. Newspaper cut outs used to advertise 8 tenders for $5.99(Chicago), and now they’re 5 for $4.99 with a coupon, or 10 for $10.99 in store.

  6. Bob says:

They don’t need any sauce aside from their BBQ which is freaking amazing. I wish they’d bottle it.

  7. Scrape says:

Always have the spicy strips around here here (MD), and there really isn’t a change in the price at mine. The 3.99 deal just is the regular 3 piece combo without the drink, no real savings. Three of the sauces are new, and the blackened ranch is a good addition.

  8. […] and it all comes down to an array of sauces that can be made available. We recently saw that Popeyes now has 3 new dipping sauces and 6 total choices to fit many personal preferences. Chicken Littles are a bit boring without versions of Buffalo, […]
