Close Out Oatmeal Month with a GrubGrade Giveaway
Is it just me, or has it been a while since we gave you some free swag? I just learned last week that January is National Oatmeal Month. What? You didn’t know either? Well in that case we can celebrate through February together thanks to another great on-the-go product from Emerald Nuts.
Last summer Emerald released its ‘Breakfast on the go!’ and this year they’ve stepped up their commitment to the breakfast bandwagon by throwing everyone’s favorite cholesterol clearing, maple-and-fruit-lovin’ whole grain into the mix. The new Oatmeal Nut Blends come in three flavors (Maple & Brown Sugar, Apples & Cinnamon, Berries & Creme) in convenient 200 calorie or less pouches that pack 3 grams of fiber and at least 3 grams of protein.
Judging by the amount of time I’ve spent in the library recently (not to mention my penchant for using a superfluous amount of verbage) I could write you a dissertation on why these are so awesome. But that would probably just put you to sleep, and last I checked these were Breakfasts on the Go!, not Sleeping Pills on the Go! So take my word for it as someone who eats a lot of packaged food. They’re awesome. They taste great, and they’ll save you a while lot of time and thought from putting your own trail mix bags together.
Emerald has been kind enough to give out three boxes of each flavor to three lucky readers. And lucky it will be, because the randomization generator knows no favorites. That being said, you will have to leave us a comment. In honor of the Super Bowl (not this weekend, but next) , I was thinking something along the line of rooting interests. As some of you know I’ve been doing the credentialed sports journalist thing for most of my adult kid-at-heart life, and recently sounded off about why three particular New England Patriots players have me intrigued to see the results of the rematch of Super Bowl XLII.
So I want to know which team you’ll be rooting for in the Big Game. Leave us a comment by Tuesday, January 31st at 11:59 P.M. est (the end of National Oatmeal month) telling us which team you’ll be pulling for to be eligible.

I’ll be rooting for the Giants, of course. Steelers fan, but any time Tom Brady goes home disappointed, everybody wins.

Lifelong Cowboy fan….but I will be pulling for the Giants.
I will root for the Giants because in a battle between giants and patriots, the giants would win. They would stomp down those 1776-era weapons, no contest. Unless of course the battle goes to the water, then all bets are off. Giants can’t handle being in water (obviously).

I always say I’m rooting for the meteor. For example, during the LSU-Alabama title game, I was rooting for the meteor to strike the field at the 50 yard line, and take the whole stadium out with it.
Sadly, the meteor didn’t win the game.

My team, The Browns, will never make the Superbowl, so since It is humanly impossible for me to root for Belichick, I’ll be rooting for the Giants.

As a side note, I keep a box of Breakfast On the Go! at work, but haven’t tried these flavors yet. Never saw the S’mores yet even. I’ve only had the Breakfast and Berry Nut Blends. Look forward to trying these regardless of the contest!

I’m rooting for good commercials this year.
On one hand, I’m already sick of hearing about Brady’s and Belichick’s “revenge” for 2007. Just based on that, I can’t wait to see them get beat again.
On the other hand, Giants fans I’ve run into lately, mostly online like facebook, have been really, REALLY obnoxious, and I’d like to see them lose.
Manavee roots for meteors, I root for sinkholes. Same effect, but I guess living in Florida has ingrained me to think sinkholes.
If I had to pick one to root for, I’ll go New York. And no Eli, winning this game will still not make you elite, but you have become really good.

I am Canadian and I will be rooting for the Patriots. I went to grad school in Boston and became a fan while living in the city. I hope I win the breakfast treats as I am often in a rush in the morning. Grabbing a pouch of these would be handy.

I have to go with the Patriots to win- but I’m just hoping that the game will be close enough that the game is more entertaining than the commercials. It’s such a bummer when one team is leading by 30 points at half time in the Superbowl (unless it’s my team).

I want the Giants to win, since they can use a victory like the Super Bowl, but I think the Patriots will likely win this one.
